Just returned from 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend. Kids loved the site and adults did too. Great views across the lake. Portaloos are scattered around the site and larger block of toilets are at the top of the field. Alpacas roam the field to the side of the camp which made for interesting entertainment. Raised fires are allowed....

Clean, well kept. Family owned, farm - Cows, sheep, llamas and alpacas. Good views over ullswater lake. Available owner, good conversation and advice. Starting point for several walks around the area avoiding urban areas. Hot shower 50p / 3 minutes. Other customers very nice and friendly, positive atmosphere.

This really is away from the nearby busy camp sites and offers a different camping experience. Very laid back and perfectly located to get onto the water and launch your own craft. Despite the clear rules that state dogs should be kept on leads, the people next to us had the dog running around and were very noisy, however this...

Lovely clean, tidy and pleasant campsite, with great views over Ullswater and surrounding hills. Very welcoming host who was very accommodating for our needs and price was reasonable. Adequate, clean and equipped facilities including picnic benches around the field which was a nice addition. We really enjoyed our short stay and will definitely be back again to explore some more...

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days, a few weeks ago. The campsites down the road were crowded and busy and gave us the fear. Dormont Cross was a little haven for us; quiet, basic facilities (hot showers and water at the sinks though) and the most stunning view over the lake from our position on the elevated...

Last weekend of the summer holidays and all the other oversized, over organised campsites were brimming over. However at around 9:30 pm we happened across this little place, pitched tent and turned in. The next morning we awoke to good views, alpacas and only five other groups on the whole field. Facilities are basic (just what we were after) but...

basic camp site. mostly sloped, not many flat areas. The owner more or less called us thieves as we were out with the kids about 10pm. The kids wanted to go out with torches. The owner stopped us at the gate up by his house. we explained we were just out for a walk. he replied he had heard that...
