We met at the Red Lion at 11 as usual and were well entertained. Sausage rolls the size of your fist, meaty with a nicely judged pasty, not too greasy cooked perfectly as were the mini pasties. Port was dispensed freely and most welcome it was. On this view of their hospitality a return is a must.

Found the pub on the net. Decided to book a table as a stop off for dinner whilst taking daughter home to Gloucester. Was very nice welcome, good beer and a great meal. Well worth the 2 mile detour off of the main dual carriageway A419.

A friend and I visited for lunch while walking the nearby Thames Path. The filled baguette with chips and salad was good value and there was plenty of it too. Particular mention should go to the excellent beer on offer. Friendly and welcoming.

I visited this pub today and left feeling like I'd been in Heaven. Having walked from Cricklade to Castle Eaton on the Thames pathway this was the paradise my friend and I found. Excellent home made food. Very welcoming and accommodating lady behind the bar. Customers and staff extremely friendly. When I thought it can't get any better it did....

A group of us stopped here for lunch after a walk on the Thames Path. The menu is quite traditional pub food e.g. fish and chips, ploughmans, baguettes etc, but they serve generous portions and the service was quick as well. We sat inside, but you can sit next to the Thames on a nice day. I can recommend this...

Stopped by today for a family lunch this pub had been recommended by a friend so I thought we would give it a try. Sat outside in a lovely, clean pleasant atmosphere. Absolutely superb, great food, especially the crab salad and cod and chips. Add to that reasonable prices and a good selection of beer. I could not fault it.

This is hardly a review as we only popped in for a coffee as they opened but thought I would like to reflect the friendliness of the inn. The bar staff were extra friendly, the bar/ restaurant comfortable and the grounds down to the Thames lovely. The lunch menu looked tempting so I would certainly return for a longer visit...

...one of the recent highlights of my life - really - 3 wonderful lunchtime hours playing boules and laughing uproariously - we arrived earlier than the scheduled opening time but the landlady kindly opened early and couldn't have been more lovely - the donnington brewery beers were outstanding - I can see that the pub needs some love and attention...

We were walking the Thames Path and so just wanted a comfy and welcoming place to stay, which is a good description of the Red Lion. After 16 miles of walking, we were a bit frazzled on arrival and the landlady was friendly and looked after us really well. We stayed in the top floor family room (sleeps 6, we...
