A weekend is study and encouragement. The surroundings show creation in all its glory and the house is filled with prayer. The food is excellent as are the staff. A great location for a course or just a quite stay.

Holland House is a Retreat Centre in the Christian Tradition, but is open to all. It is a welcoming and 'open' place. It provides a fantastic environment : characterful in the old buildings and with some functional newer buildings for much of the accommodation and conference facilities. It sits in wonderful well maintained gardens stretching down to the river Avon.... More

I have been here a few times in years gone by but I didn't remember this quality of food. We had amazing nouveau cuisine style all cooked to a high standard. Such places usually have rather ordinary home cooking so this was a little extra that makes it stand out.

A three day stay to contemplate "where next?" in life was ideal. The welcome was warm, the food was superb, and the peace was deep. I particularly enjoyed the garden within the yew hedge and the prayer hut on the bank overlooking the River Avon.

As soon as you arrive it feels like you leave all your cares and worries behind you. On previous visits the food has always been delicious and plenty. The gardens hold so many treats and are impeccably cared for without feeling at all formal. Simple single rooms with everything you need in the new block. Everything else is in the... More

Called here as part of the Bank holiday Cropthorne walkabout .Exceptionally friendly volunteers /staff who went out of the way to be helpful in showing us what to see in house and gardens and explaining things including its history. We were going to come back later for afternoon tea, but as the weather turned we headed back home so didn’t... More

I stayed in the original part of Holland House and had a lovely view overlooking the sunken garden. The room was very comfortable and clean with adequate storage and a small basin in. The bed was very comfortable and there were tea making facilities in the room and a good supply of tea, coffee, chocolate etc. There wasn't an en-suite... More
