The pool was closed at Savanna Inn supposedly by state mandate due to Covid, but another hotel we stayed in in Illinois, the pool was open. So that was a lie! Very disappointed because of riding all day in 95 degree heat, it would have been refreshing to be in a pool! Another small inconvenience was that the room didn't have soap!
Wife and I stay at the Savanna Inn & Suites for a couple nights while we were staying in the area for the weekend. Room was both clean and comfortable. We had a king-sized bed with plenty of pillows and blankets. Room had a desk and a couple chairs for relaxing, and there was a refrigerator for food and drinks. Hotel is located on the top of a hill, and it has a nice view of the surrounding area. Hotel had plenty of additional amenities as well. There is a pool and hot tub, although these were closed down at the time of our visit. There was a fitness center, which was open, and laundry facilities. They also provided a free breakfast in the morning, which had a nice selection of various options; both warm and cold. I particularly enjoyed the cheese omelets and biscuits and gravy. Only criticism that I had with our stay was the noisiness of the other guests, which the hotel can only control so much. Thicker walls to reduce some of the noise from neighboring rooms would help, but most of the commotion was from people shouting in the hallway or vehicles reaving their engines in the parking lot.…
Hotel sits on top of a hill with a beautiful view and quite nice inside. My desk clerk named Baylee went up and above and returned an item that I lost in the parking lot that made my day. The rooms are clean, quiet, & comfortable including the beds. I do wish that they had something besides one pot of coffee for breakfast. There is McDonald’s and a gas station at the bottom of the hill but it still would’ve been nice to have some thing at the hotel.
Pros: fairly new, top of hill, nice view. Pleasant décor, high ceilings. Cons: no free breakfast on weekdays, at $128 a night. Plastic keys iffy. Wifi complicated and difficult to use. My laptop could not connect. Sink in room, not in bathroom. Toilet backed up on us. Minimal sound insulation between rooms. Thermostat did not work so froze on AC all night, could not stop it. Just sheets, no blanket or comforter.
We stayed here with friends from our Harley Owners Group for a long weekend. We were impressed that this place was clean and kept up compared to other options in the area. We were disappointed that there was no complementary breakfast with our stay and the pool was not open. We were told that it was due to the Covid 19, although other hotel stays recently did have the pools open with restrictions and had a modified free breakfast. They did not offer a discount on the room rental for the lack of these items. They did have a cute area on a deck outside the front lobby to congregate and the hotel offered shuttle service to near by attractions. We would stay here again.
