This B & B in Sherman, Illinois, is the perfect place to stay to take in the Lincoln sites in Springfield or for a simple reprieve from the pressures of life. This wonderful old home has all the appointments needed for a comfortable and relaxed stay. It is as close to home-away-from-home as a guest will find. Owners Doug and...

Driving up to the Flagg Farmstead gives you no clue how historic this home is. It is a wonderfully taken care of farm house of a well-to-do gentleman and family. It makes for a perfect setting for a bed and breakfast, with charming and helpful hosts, Roselle and Doug. Our room that we chose, was the New Salem Room, as...

This is my 1st B&B experience and I love it! My wife and I had good time during our short stay. The house itself is an antique but very clean and comfortable. It's a plus to have bathroom in every guest room. Breakfast is healthy fresh fruit with a touch of yogurt + delicious blueberry waffle with bacon. It tasted...

About 10 minutes out of Springfield and back in time to an excellent overnight when visiting the area. Comfortable and interesting restoration of a well-to-do country home. Friendly and helpful hosts, good breakfast, good coffee, nice, fun, old-timey room. If I'm going to Springfield again I'll be staying here.

Three friends ventured down to Springfield from Chicago to see the Lincoln sights. The highlight of our getaway was staying at the Flagg Farmstead. Doug and Rose Polite were the perfect hosts. Not only were the rooms spacious and comfortable and breakfast delicious but Rose helped us change our plans given the un-Springlike weather. A must stay for anyone visiting...

This beautifully decorated & comfortable historic home is only topped by its gracious, warmly helpful & enjoyable hosts! Doug & Rosalie & their sweet little dog Izzie make it feel like we're with family! And Rose's blueberry waffles are heavenly! Any visit to the Springfield area must include a stay!

Even though we arrived much later than the usual check-in, we were warmly greeted by Doug and Rose Polite, the owners of this charming B&B. We stayed 2 nights in the Lincoln Room, which was very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, and between Doug and Rose we got directions to the local attractions and great restaurant recommendations. Doug...

This was a clean, comfortable and welcoming B&B. We enjoyed it because it was quiet and out of Springfield. Doug and Rosie along with their dog, Isabella were very helpful with restaurant suggestions, directions to sites and tickets to the Lincoln Museum. Our room, the Lincoln Room was bright and looked out at the golden maples that were stunning. Breakfast...

We had a lovely two nights at this warm and charming B&B. The home is beautiful and so well kept. I love the idea on their website that lets you see and choose which room you'll be staying in. But since we were the only couple at the Farmstead I got to peek into all the rooms and you can't...
