I have recently visited and stayed at The Rock Inn for the first time for a business stop over. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome and was shown to our rooms, I stayed in room ‘Freebooter’ which was outstanding and more of a suite than a room! It had a very large comfortable bed, sitting area and then...

Simply wonderful. My wife & I with neighbors scheduled a leisurely road trip to Devon on England's south coast intending to stop at some high end, posh establishments. Our friends scheduled The Rock Inn as a way point and I'd given it little thought before arriving. Long story made short: this was my favorite of a half dozen stops. The...

We had a gift of a meal for two and decided on the Rock Inn. This is a lovely place on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and it was a great night out. We had the A La Carte dinner and because we had the dogs with us we were in the "conservatory". It was quiet because we were...

This pub is in a little village and so glad we stopped the food is to die for and in my opinion just as good as some Michelin star restaurants I have been to. The service is very good and the prices are very reasonable.i would definitely go back.

Taken here for an early drink and a bite to eat after a short tour of the neighbourhood. Cosy, comfortable and friendly. Attentive staff, good sensible food, great atmosphere. We sat in one of the many intimate spaces to drink and chat - and then moved to the dining area for a lovely supper.

We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms but it was very clean and comfortable with a spacious ensuite. Service was impeccable and the food was lovely. The staff are a credit to this establishment. We will return.

We booked the Rock for lunch as it was a friends birthday. We had visitors from Reading so wanted to go somewhere really special. Knowing the Rock as we do this is the perfect venue for a fantastic lunch but in a very relaxing environment. The Rock never disappoints, just fabulous. The Australian waitress was so accommodating and very sociable....

Had lunch here on easter sunday and it was amazing. Sat in the lovely garden. I had salmon caesar salad and my husband had the beef roast. We then shared sticky toffee pudding and the lemon trio. Everything was delicious. Presentation beautiful. Dog water bowls in the garden. Would love to go back next time we're in Devon.

Went for a celebratory evening meal. The Rock Inn has several eating areas, the main bar which is our preferred choice, a seperate dining room which tends to have bigger groups sitting there and a light and airy atrium area. There is also a small 'bar' area. Serious walkers are welcome, in the summer you can sit outside in the...

The Rock Inn was recommended to us by our landlady and it did not disappoint. Simple menu but well executed is always a sign of good pub food. My duck scotch eggs came poached and was really tasty. Fish and chips was very fresh with a crisp batter and home made chips. Washed down with reasonably priced and very drinkable...
