Staying at this spot is truly an experience of living in the Forest, among the rocks, trees, birds and monkeys. It is thoughtfully laid out, and gives a very lay back ambience for good relaxation. the views from the cabins are breadthtaking. The service is good, staff very friendly and helpful. A lot of climbing steps and inclines. There is... More

Definitely recommend staying here. We also booked the candlelit dinner for two. Fantastic service, beautiful scenery, very nice room. Would definitely recommend to all travelers, especially foreigners. It does get a little loud during the day when the caves open, but it clears up around 5 pm. Luckily you won't be in the room all day with so much to... More

Awesomeness in terms of View, Hospitality (Thanks to Sijin and Lins), Facilities in the room, Candles' light dinner in a cave. Had no need to go in search for any Sun set points, cottage named Lascaux had an awesome view so that you can either lay back on your bed and enjoy the sun set or enjoy the Sun set... More

Great location, breath taking views, and a mountainside dotted with cute little cottages. I would highly recommend for travellers. Edakkal Hermitage is beautiful and pretty quiet. The food deserves a special mention, made with love, and just like one might expect food to be at home. The candle-light dinners in a cave on the property is a great experience -... More

It is a wonderful place to spend your weekend. We stayed here for a night and the experience was extraordinary. Very friendly staff and great hospitality. The Cave dinner in a real cave lite up by hundreds of candles is very romantic and worth it. You may need to book the dinner at the cave before hand and also mention... More

Friendly staff, well planned hotel/dinner package and the proximity to the Edakkal caves makes this a lovely get away. We were looking for a quiet and cosy place and a unique visit, we got all of that at Edakkal Hermitage. The food was generous and tasty, they took into account our taste and preferences even cooking plantains (big bananas) for... More

Stayed here for a night recently while on a trip further down south. The resort is outstanding, with its beautiful cottages, the view, food and the access to the caves. We stayed at the Kapova cottage, which is perched on a hillside with great views of the western ghats. The nice balcony served as a view point and a place... More

Edakkal Hermitage is a nice place to stay a couple of days. The rooms are neat and clean. The location is excellent. It is exactly on the trekking trail to Edakkal caves. The food is tasty but they offer only fixed menu for lunch and dinner. The service is excellent and the staff is quite friendly. The food is pretty... More
