Badly in need of renovation. Old smoke smell is disguised by perfume. Need to paint in-room walls, sew the fabrics, and update the sinks and toilets. Thank goodness it was a quick stop over. Pool was in need of a cleaning too. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all I'd say this is barely a 3 star...

Chose this motel after calling at its more expensive cousin across the car park. It might have been a little tired around the edges but that wasn't noticeable. The usual standard of good beds and other facilities are there to be enjoyed. Nothing grated

Got a King size room for $55 a night. Thought it was a good deal. Exterior of hotel is showing age. Parking not very well lit and full of pot holes. Interior of building has freighted carpet and dimly lit. Room had beer cap on the floor and pubic hair on toilet. Obviously had not been cleaned. No toilet paper...

This is going to be the 3rd stay at this hotel within a month. I always want to come back and stay here. Shannon at the front desk is a true asset to the property. Met the GM and think she does a great job with the property and staff. Breakfast is a bit weak but continental enough to qualify....

The group I went to Merrillville/Hobart with decided to stay there again but I don't know why. Two years ago when I was there last the place had just gone under new management and were promising that there would be a lot of improvements done so I booked there instead of any other area motels. I couldn't see where anything...

I booked a week at the Econo Lodge in Merrillville for late August 2014. I was in the area for some volunteer work -- modest accommodations would suffice, as I'd only be sleeping at the motel. Unfortunately, the property was not very clean and was poorly managed. There were many food spills in the corridors, trash was blown far and...

Once upon a time this use to be a really nice place when it was Lee's Inn. My Husband and I made a quick trip to Merrillville to visit Family on Labor Day weekend. We got this place from Priceline.com. The staff is super nice - but the hotel.. OMG!! A moldy, mildewey MESS.. There was a roach in our...

Here's an example of be careful with what you see on the web pages. The rooms were worn and dated. We only had on lamp in the room (and a hall light and bathroom light). The "comfortable" chair was so worn on the back that the stuffing was showing. The TV reception was not much better than when we had...

I stayed two nights at this property. I found the room to be quiet and comfortable, although dated. But who cares about the furnishings when all you want is a good night's sleep. The people working the front desk were definitely a "cut above". They went so far as to print out directions to a location I was visiting in...

“There is a pool and whirlpool, and the hotel is willing to keep them open a bit later than the posted time. So, if that kind of noise bothers you, ask for a room away from that area. We stayed in a room at the end of one of the halls on the first floor, and it was nice and quiet.”
