Have stayed about all the hotels in Muncie but this is still the best. Clean rooms always a comfortable stay. Seems to get lots of use but they do the better job of staying up with the place unlike others in area. Pillows were small and so were the beds but rooms seem more quiet and definitely more maintained than the others.

We needed to come to Muncie for a funeral so I was researching hotels in the area and the reviews here were better than most plus Choice Hotels had a 20% off special so we decided to stay here. I have some dexterity issues so sometimes typing is hard especially on a cell phone and i was having issues reserving the room online so I called the hotel directly to book but the wouldn't help me so that I could get the fall special rate. Fortunately the main Choice Hotels rep was more understanding and made the reservation for me. The room was clean enough, no bugs, no hair from previous guests. I went to use the room's lotion (left mine at home) and discovered it was leftover from a previous guest because there was nothing left in the tiny bottle. Now here is the reallt negative part of our stay; my husband gets out of the shower and the fire alarm starts going off in our room. We try for 30 minutes to get it to shut off to no avail. My husband finally calls the front desk about it. About 10 or 15 minutes later the maintenance tech arrives and he can't get it to shut off either. While he's there we are rushing to pack up and get the heck out of there. About 20 minutes later he finally got the alarm to shut off. I got a major headache from it that we didn't even stay for the breakfast so I could go buy some Aleve.

I was in town for volleyball with my daughter. This room had a comfy bed, a nice chair and space to move. (I have stayed at the 3 hotels located in proximity to here recently) Bathroom was a decent size and lots of water pressure.
The first night there was an interesting man going in and out of his room every 5 minutes loading and unloading things from about 9:30pm to midnight. There was also a party across the hall, but they weren't too noisy.
The second night we returned to our room, the whole 2nd floor was flooded with smoke. We put towels and newspaper around our gaps in the door, to try to stop the smell from coming into out room About midnight I called the front desk about the smoke smell worried that I might be charged for a cleaning fee since my room smelled. The front desk said they would check it out. I did see someone walking by my door a few minutes later.
At 2:05am, I had a knock on my door. Scared me, as we were asleep. The hooded male at my door said sorry wrong room and proceeded to knock on a few more until he found the party across the hall.
I feel bad writing this as the room was nice, the breakfast was decent (for Covid) and the location and rate were perfect. Just be aware that this property has a lot of commotion. Maybe ask for a quiet floor.

Response from Jared Owen, General Manager at Comfort Inn & Suites
Responded 10 Feb 2021
Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your daughter's Volleyball Tournament last weekend. I want to sincerely apologize for the inconveniences that occurred during your stay with us. I'm very sorry that there was a party going on across the hall and that smoke was up on the 2nd floor as well. I'm glad to hear that you did make my front desk aware of the situation and I hope it did make you feel a little more secure knowing that they looked into the problem. Again I am very sorry that these issues did happen to your stay with us. Don't feel bad for writing this at all because a lot goes on that I don't hear about when I'm not at the hotel so I do rely on surveys good or bad and if they are bad I try to learn from our mistakes. We hope that if you do come back to this area for Volleyball you won't hesitate to give us a call. Thank you again and hope you have a great rest of your day! Sincerely, Jared Owen General Manager

We moved our son into Ball State on Wednesday. After a long day of moving him in and getting him settled I really just wanted to go to my room shower and crawl into bed. Check in wasn’t a problem at all. I get to my room and look in one bed and there are hairs on the sheets. I go to the other bed and the same thing. I went down to the front desk and let the clerk know that my bedding obviously hadn’t been changed. She looked for awhile and said she didn’t have any other rooms so she would just come up and change my sheets. I told her that was fine. She came up about 15 min later and changed the sheets on one bed. I told her I appreciated it. The next morning I am in the shower washing my hair and I see something on the edge of the tub in the back of the shower. It’s a bar of soap with you guessed it….hair on it. 🤢 My room was obviously not cleaned. I made them aware at the front desk and I also let the housekeeper know. When I got back that evening thankfully it was gone. smell. like the hotel isn’t that old but, it is generally a dirty hotel. My room had a wet smell. Even the stairwell was dirty and smelly. Breakfast was subpar. Coffee was cold and I ate half a yogurt. I didn’t even get coffee or breakfast the next morning. I felt like from the reviews of this place and the other hotels they seemed pretty comparable. I guess I made the wrong choice. I won’t be staying here again.

We visit Munice a couple times a yer. We generally stay at a slightly more upscale place. but this time we stayed at Comfort Inn. We saved a bout $20 and for the life of me there was almost no difference between this motel and the other one, except it was less expensive. A light breakfast is served in the morning, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is easy to speak with and professional. The WiFi workes well and the locations aren't a mile apart. It is impossible to justify spending more for the same quality & comfort.

Visiting from Alabama for a short weekend trip to see friends. Booked online and check in was a breeze. Front desk clerk was great. Room was modern and very clean. It was a good size so we didn’t feel cramped at all. Right after we got to the room there was a courtesy call from the front desk to make sure the room was ok. That was very appreciated. The bed was a little firm for me so a quick trip to a WalMart for a mattress topper solved that problem. But that’s just my personal preference ..not a complaint :) Breakfast was provided from 6:30-9:30. Good variety to choose from. Coffee was very good! Check out was also easy as they left a printout under our door showing all charges and if any balance due. Would definitely stay there again!

My employer booked the hotel for 5 nights. Upon arrival, found the hotel had me down for one night. One co-worker had the same situation. We both had email confirmations of the 5 nights. Two other co-workers arrived with their email confirmations and were told their reservations didn't exist. They didn't apologize, no offer to help them find an alternative hotel. They had to find accommodations elsewhere. My key (card) consistently did not work & the elevator is slower than molasses, so every time this happened, down I would go to have to have it fixed. At the time the reservation was made, my employer provided the hotel with a tax exempt form and the hotel still charged taxes. There were nasty stains on the bed coverlet and the runner that goes on the foot of the bed. The room was dark and dingy, the carpet was dirty. I literally was checking the bed each night for bed bugs. The heat in the room was set on 68, but it felt like a sauna, so I kept turning the setting down. So in January in Indiana, I had to run the air conditioning to get the room at a normal level. The walls are thin in the rooms and so you can hear everything - phone conversations, hair dryers, televisions and ????? Never, ever will I stay at this hotel again.

First off, I'm on the edge of giving them 5 stars. But "perfection" is hard to attain in this business. Here's my story.
My wife and I came into town for our son's graduation from Muncie Central High. Stayed 4 nights (Saturday thru Tuesday). Arrived late afternoon after our flight from Seattle.
We checked in but somehow the central computer had us needing a handicapped room. The desk manager immediately offered us a king suite on either the first or third floor at no additional charge. We accepted. Questions on services were all answered courteously and knowledgeably.
Our room was very nice, with a sofa (sturdy and comfortable), desk, king-size bed (firm and fine), full bath, and LCD TV mounted to the wall. The air conditioner worked as expected without issue. Refrigerator was fine and the wi-fi was very good with little lag. No surprises here.
We didn't hear many noises throughout our stay from adjacent rooms. While we didn't really use housekeeping, they were there on-time and working when we passed by. We exchanged towels and such, but that was about all.
The last night we asked if our son could stay with us (using the hid-a-bed) as we had to leave at 6 am the next morning. It would help us if he were there to go immediately rather than us have to go fetch him at his father's house and hope he was up and ready. I was willing to pay any fees for that as necessary.
The desk manager waved any extra cost off and said it would be fine if he stayed. We really appreciated that. It was a nice gesture and pushes me towards the five stars. However, the only "minuses" I found were that 1) I couldn't swivel the LCD TV on the wall much, 2) the pillows in the bed were not standard...they were short (and maybe that's the norm nowadays), and 3) the paper they received was the Wall Street Journal, which is ok but I prefer USAToday for the variety.
Breakfast was fine...nicely put together...and enjoyable. It was standard as I've experienced at other hotels. All in all it was a very positive and welcome experience. We tip our hat to the staff!

I don't usually write reviews but I just had to for this property. Stayed in this property for 2 nights recently for a business trip paid for by the company. Check in was fast...too fast for the lady to answer my question. I inquired if my reservation was eligible for stay 2 get $50 gas card promo that was very prominently displayed on the check-in counter (brochures, etc). I was told I don't deal with that and she didn't have an idea and told me to call the number. Helpful! First night I had trouble connecting to internet thru my netbook's wifi. I have tried about 30 mins in my room...shutting off wi-fi and turning back on, changing configuration, shutting and restarting netbook etc. It says "connected" to the hotel network but also says "no internet access". I contacted front desk at 930pm, who promptly told me "I am not a computer techie but you can come down and I will take a look". I came down to the front desk, and it was the same young lady from check-in, looked at the netbook and had me do a few things I already did, and said "I don't know" and flatly surrendered to the fact that she's the only one on the property. And that's it. To make the long story short, I REALLY HAD to check my email that night for important business matters and I looked for the manager. "I am the only person". Call the manager on duty AT HOME, I'm sure there is one. And she did. I eventually discovered the problem and corrected it myself, and left the front desk...a full hour after i tried connecting from my room! Next morning, first thing that I saw when I woke up from my king suite was...or I should say... 2 small roaches on the wall on the side of the bed. When I went to the bathroom, there was another one. I promptly told the front desk about my "roach roommates" when I went down for breakfast, and the guy said I'll make a note of it. Next morning, same thing, 1 roach on the wall and 2 small roaches on the bathroom. Mind you, I did kill the roaches the first day, so there were at least 6 different roaches that I saw. This property's rates are not cheap when I searched, but add another $10-20 bucks, you'll be in much better properties (hopefully) across the street. I did make the company who invited me aware of these problems, so I hope they don't send their poor visitors to this place anymore.
