the food and the location is everything in this place. Is clean and the rooms are nice and rustic. Great concept and a lot of potential. Keep in mind, the closest ATM is 30 min in car, the restaurant in the hotel only takes cash, you can only pay with card in checkout, and sometimes the pin machine doesn't work....

Great location with Caribbean views. This beautiful hotel was an absolute delight. Beautiful surroundings, lush gardens, peaceful. Great place to relax in the hammocks. Private garden bathroom where you can shower listening to woodpeckers and watch hummingbirds. Vegetarian menu.

We stayed there four night - one night more than planned. The rooms with mountain view and of course also the cabanas are very clean and give you the feeling of being in the middle of a little jungle. As all buildings are build "open" there were colibris one morning in our room which was a really cool experience. The...

we stayed in another hostel while we found thi place while walking on the beach. We where lucky that they had a vacancy but only for one day. Hut 11, beautiful spacious room; great mosquito net and we loved the (open) bathroom. From the veranda we could see the see - and in the night we could here the waves....

The location is incredibly idyllic and relatively quiet. Cabanas are really nice and comfortable. And there's really not much to do l, so food becomes important, and it is great. The staff spoke English and was helpful in getting is around/ arranging transport and tours. Restaurant staff speaks Spanish only, but you will have plenty of time to sort it...

We were there for dinner only so I can't say much about the hotel!! But the food was exceptional one of the best places we have eaten in Colombia so far. The scenery was also very beautiful all the way down to the beach. Live torches to show you the way and candle lights on each table. A fantastic experience...

Stayed at La Sirena for NYE 2016. Wonderful place, and the restaurant, which is vegetarian only, is the best place in town and for many, many miles. Everything on the menu was OUTSTANDING! There are two reasons why I'm not giving La Sirena five stars. First, unless you're staying for a long time you can't pay by credit card, you...

Stunning location on the Palomino beach, best not to do with big heavy bags as there's a lot of sand to walk over to get there. Great food, I would recommend this place for eating alone, breakfast is included and there's half decent wifi if you need. Variety of yoga classes on offer to stretch you out after lugging heavy...

The food is lovely, the service is great and the people were very helpful. Amparo, the manager, is very knowledgeable, responds quickly and efficiently, and cares deeply for the land and its people. They've daily yoga classes, you can get a massage on site, and they help you book lovely day trips.

We tried the entire breakfast menu with a group. The pancakes and French toast were amazing, the granola and oatmeal not so much; they were lacking flavor. The beet smoothie didn't taste good, but the fruity ones did. It needs more consistency in quality. More flavor.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are an intimate Eco Hotel and Yoga Center with a holistic atmosphere. It is a peaceful and relaxing semi-private Caribbean beachfront property of 7 acres on a coconut plantation. Nested in the foothills of La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (the tallest coastal mountain on earth) home to the Arhuacos and the Kogis, some of the most isolated indigenous tribes in the world. The property has its own beach as well as rivers on both sides within walking distance. We have an organic plantation of numerous fruit trees and vegetable gardens in a permaculture design. Standing in the middle of the property and facing inland you will see the great snow peaks of La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Turn around and you are looking out at an endless horizon of emerald green Caribbean water. ... more   less
