I am normally not the type to leave a review, in fact I probably wouldnt have had I not seen the sticker in the window on my way out asking for trip advisor reviews. Odd that they have that sign up for a hotel that isn't on trip advisor. I have stayed at the Baymont before and it is a nice hotel, very clean and in a good area. However, they must've been bought out and this new company has no idea how to run a business! I am VERY disappointed. I looked at the website before booking and was under the impression this resort would have a water park and new amenities. Wrong! My family and I stayed for one night and payed more than twice the amount we have payed before. There is no water park!!!! Yet when you call they answer the phone as a "resort" and charge high end prices. I've stayed in MUCH better for less. The whole area was under construction which made getting to the hotel very difficult. The hotel itself has not changed at all. Still the outdated bedding and carpet as before. The breakfast was standard toast and juice. No hot meal option like eggs, sausage, biscuts. The TV's didnt work either. Staff was friendly but it was clear they didn't know anything. I tried asking about the camp grounds and was told it doesnt have water yet there are campers out there. My family and I have never had such a horrible experience at a hotel. We won't be back. I encourage everyone to look elsewhere as well

The accommodations were overall quite good, the one star rating is for the staff's lack of care regarding COVID precautions...they clearly don't care about the well-being of their guests. We definitely won't be bringing our business back anytime soon. We took a short road trip into Iowa to view the fall colors along the Mississippi. I was reluctant to visit Iowa since the state has no mask mandate, and now one of the highest test positivity rates in the country. But given that the Wyndham website has plastered all over their websites' masthead about the precautions they're taking to increase safety of the guests, and that we take precautions to protect others as well, I thought it would be OK. We checked in on Saturday October 10th, and the lady working the desk wasn't wearing a mask, nor was the guest she was helping who was in front of me. Over the course of our one-night stay, I'd say maybe 75% of the guests we saw were wearing masks, which is a much better rate than the staff. When we checked out the next morning, there were a total of five staff in the immediate area of the front desk...not social distancing, and only one was wearing a mask. The simple act of wearing a mask goes a long way with a lot of people to show you actually care about their health and well being. While the general public can do whatever they want, I would expect that a hospitality business would at LEAST want to take these minimum precautions. Given that the industry is already reeling from lack of travel, and we paid near $200 for a single night, you'd think they'd want to show a little more concern about their guests' health - or at least give the appearance that they care...but they couldn't even do that. Again, overall the accommodations were good. The room was clean, and we had a balcony overlooking the Mississippi River. There was a crack in the room's ceiling and it appears that at one time there may have been a water leak or something. The hotel is kind of stuck in the middle of almost nowhere. We were going to be arriving around dinnertime, and I called ahead to see if the restaurant (which is prominently listed on the website) was open or had restrictions with COVID-19, and was told that it had been closed for almost a year. We did visit a nice diner in town, and I have to say that the staff there all wore masks, which was nice to see...but the website is listing amenities that the hotel does not have and has not had for some time. Given that we're in a pandemic and a hotel is a gathering of many people in a relatively confined area, and that staff has at least some contact with many of them, I would hope that the management would be much more concerned about the liability of their staff acting as possible vectors of infection...but it doesn't appear that they are.

We are sorry you are unhappy with your stay. May I say that you state you were concerned because Iowa has no mask mandatey yet you came. I take issue with several things you said in this review. You paid almost $200. True, you stayed in a suite, river facing on a Saturday night. . Most people who enter our establishment with a mask, remove it once they observe the cleanliness of our hotel. I truly doubt, on any day, "75% of our guests were wearing mask" but if they were, that is their personal choice. Our front desk has a table placed in front of it so we are 6 feet away from guests at check in. As employees, we do often stand and discuss matters together. I am with this people, personally, more than my family. We exhibit NO signs of the virus. If any of us did, we would stay home. It is passed by droplets in the air or on things. If there is no coughing or sneezing, there shouldn't be any risk during the time we are together. We actually have a number of staff who wear masks all the time. This is their choice. Hand sanitizer is available and I, personally, use it at least 8-12 times a day and more if necessary. We are located "in the middle of nowhere" however, this was the place you chose for your getaway. Bellevue is a beautiful town with state parks, restaurants, a riverwalk, is right on the banks of the Mississippi, historical buildings and some shopping. If you were bored, I don't believe you took advantage of our town. You state that our amenities were lacking. The restaurant (which is on the same property but not the same company, did close a year ago. This was not our decision. You called and asked and were told. It should have been no surprise to you. Other other amenities - pool, spa, workout room, wifi, small breakfast (due to covid our buffet is closed) are here. I feel your review is very exaggerated due to your displeasure with people choosing not wear masks. I especially am offended you stated my staff are "possible vectors of infection". Our procedures here are quite extensive for your protection and ours. You could have asked to see our checklist to keep all safe. Finally, if you felt uncomfortable here, you should considering staying home until the health crisis passes.

We selected this hotel due to the most recent reviews after the management change showed the motel to be highly rated. We were not disappointed. The rooms were cleaned with the utmost care for our safety. You can tell by just walking into the room with that clean smell. Our room was on the river side and there was a nice balcony you go out and sit on and view the river. The motel would be a great stay during the fall or spring due to the scenery. During the summer times, you need to shut off the room air conditioning while you are out on the balcony due to the AC blowing the recycled warm air onto the balcony. Other than that, we had a great stay,

We were pleasantly surprised that it was so nice. I haven't stayed in a Baymont before., and it was quite nice, the breakfast thing is a little wild. with nothing out. The coffee was luke warm by 9 am , the chain says no t a breakfast out apparently now. Most motel breakfasts are just minimal and not restaurant quality anyway so no big deal. I liked the staff too! Good job, will stay again!

Thank you for your great review of our property! Sorry about the coffee - it should be fresh and hot at all times! Covid restrictions in Iowa have made breakfast all but disappear! When all this is over - please come back and enjoy our buffet.
