This tastefully decorated vintage home in Burlington Iowa provided a relaxing stay in a lovely Mississippi river town. Georgette, the hostess, made us a filling breakfast both mornings and capably accommodated our food allergies. She gave us restaurant recommendations and directions to our destinations. There was even a grand piano for us to play! The home is walking distance from...

We needed a last minute room due to a death in the family, and luckily there was a room at Candlelight Manor. I had never stayed in a B&B before, and now am not sure I will be going back to hotels if I can help it! The house was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Our bed was extremely comfortable...

We called as we were leaving Nauvoo and got a room for the night. Our hostess was very informative and friendly. The home has 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. There is one bathroom on the 2nd floor and one on the first. So depending on how many rooms are rented you could be sharing a bathroom. On our particular...

We were in town visiting my Grandma for her 103rd birthday and decided at the last minute to stay here. The location was close to downtown and centrally located. The house is beautiful and the rooms are very clean. We had the Flower room and there is a toilet (only) that is between our room and another. Luckily no one...

The house is beautifully restored, the rooms are comfortable, the location is good - within walking distance to downtown and the river, the innkeeper does a nice job on the breakfast along with being very helpful about where to go and eat in town.

Distinctive-house addicts won't go wrong on this blue ribbon restoration, and Georgette is an engaged, appealing, competent hostess. Westin, eat your heart out! For this native of the Upper Mississippi, first time to Burlington, where the hills will develop your calf muscles fast. Wonderful streetscapes, old churches and multiple good restaurants.

As soon as I walked through the beveled-glass and hardwood doors I felt I'd come home. Georgette, our hostess, has furnished, decorated and kept this pre-civil war home in pristine, absolutely charming condition. Every room has a different wallpaper, antique furnishings, oriental rugs, fine chandeliers, impeccable original hardwood floors (with gorgeous wood inlay in the dining room), a baby grand...

“We had the Green Room, which had a king size bed. You have to step up into this room, and also the double/single room. The Floral and Blue rooms don't have the step. If you need to be close to the bathroom, ask for the Blue room. All rooms are lovely and quiet. Bathrobes are provided for use.”
