I booked a room at the Winneshiek for my wedding weekend (May 1-3, 2015), and I'm glad I did! The place was wonderful. I don't think I've been in a more beautiful place. The staff was so friendly, as were the guests! (A few of them actually helped my maid of honor and I carry our luggage once they saw...

My wife, daughter and I stayed at Hotel Winneshiek and were so impressed with the aesthetics! Our room was nicely done, clean, and had a huge bathtub that my daughter really enjoyed. The restaurant inside the hotel had the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. It's very easy to walk anywhere downtown from this location.

Excellent guest services, blended with historical ambiance and lovely menu. Quaint but modern; very unique. Architecture was fascinating, and location was convenient to the activities which brought us to Decorah. (Syttende Mai, Norwegian Independence Day celebration.)

We recently stayed 5 nights at this historic hotel located on main street in Decorah. The location is great-central to all the sites, restaurants/bars, shopping and even the Trout Run Trail is accessible by only a 15-20 minute walk. (Definitely recommend biking this amazing trail-it is only an 11 mile loop but laid out beautifully with twists, turns, hills and...

My husband treated me to the Hotel Winneshiek because I'd just survived a family reunion sharing his parents' tiny house with 9 other people. I wanted quiet and plush. Hotel Winneshiek is just that. We came with our bikes, and the hotel has a bike room right in the lobby. We came without a reservation. They were very helpful and...

My family and I stayed there this last weekend for a college graduation. Sarah at the front desk was AMAZING! She did everything and more to ensure that our stay was perfect! Doug and Taylor in the restaurant were awesome as well. They were friendly and so very attentive. The food was delicious and the rooms were lovely. I would...

The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Our daughters had decided to stay somewhere else in Decorah the weekend of their sister's weddings. The hotel was rather filled and we didnt have room for an extra 5 people in our room. I called the front desk and told her our dilema and she said they could use the Presidential suite...

The Winneshiek is one of those great old hotels that anchors the Main Street of a prosperous small town. Some of the rooms on the second and third floors are very worn, and in need of a makeover. After seeing a couple of them, we popped for an upgrade to one of the first floor suites, which are new, fresh,...
