So, what can I say. It's a Holiday Inn. About what you'd expect from a normal hotel. Honestly, the lobby area was the most impressive part. Pool is smaller than expected - and the hot tub was covered with plywood. Breakfast not included, but the $15 buffet at the attached restaurant was not bad - and kids under 12 eat free.

Had a great experience in all areas. Room great, quiet, clean. Bar fantastic. Great good in restaurant. Was on business as usual and chose to stay here. Free parking, good security measures, well lighted. Felt safe. Nancy the bartender was fantastic and a pleasure to chat with. Made great martinis with huge olives. Ordered the siracha shrimp and ate in the bar. Ample portion and some of the tastiest good I've had recently. All of this at great prices. Breakfast was $10 optional additional charge and I took it. Choice of either buffet or menu ordering for that price. I took the buffet option and had choices between two different egg styles. Two meats, potatoes, juice. And all the other usual stuff like breads and cereals. This will definitely be my home away from home when in Dubuque for business. Pool was warm and nice. Whirlpool was closed for repairs and I really love the whirlpool to soak my weary business bones but I'm not counting off for that. It happens from time to time. Place was run like an upscale hotel. We’ve been taking family and friends for over 15 years to the Holiday Inn downtown Dubuque restaurant because of Jason Coffman. We celebrate special occasions and even New Years Eve here. We got to know Jason before the remodel and continue to support the restaurant/bar entirely because of Jason and the former bartender, Nancy. Jason is the reason we come here once a week.

We are Dubuque residents who frequently visit River Rock Bar & Restaurant. The reason we go is the great service provided by Jason Coffman. The Bennigans menu and food are good, but Jason is the reason we go and look forward to him being our server.

Here we go again with another hotel not taking care of the hot tub. Lots of pictures including the Holiday Inn Website (and this one) CLEARLY showing a hot tub. I made my reservation for multiple nights and changed it to one after seeing that they have drained the hot tub and put up a sign that you would see in a run down hotel that says it is out of order. The HI website does not mention a pool or hot tub of any sort- so I assume the pictures to tell the true story. Don't patronize me or anyone else with a line of bull about why it is the way it is. I would recommend heading somewhere else with a hot tub or at least a hotel that represents amenities correctly - I will not be back - I offered to talk to management about this or I would write a truthful review but the hotel refused to discuss the issue…

Clean and friendly hotel, centrally-located on Main St in Dubuque. Good value for the money and free parking. The rooms could use some updating, but we paid a good rate for the area. Casino, restaurants, bars, Five Flags center all within walking distance.

Awesome hotel for the price and the fact that you provide a security person Jeff too keep us safe and he also does your shuttle service til 2am on Friday and Saturday night. Jeff was absolutely great opening the door for me and my husband and very professional and polite We really appreciate the shuttle service so we can go out for drinks and knowing he will get us back safe!
