We have been going to the Ancon since 1991 and have never seen it slip so bad, it is truly a Cuban Resort now, they have taken over everything, restaurants, bar and pool. The beach is still beautiful and there are many friendly helpful staff,...More

Sadly, one of my favorite places in the past, Club Ancon Amigo, visited three times, has deteriorated to the point that I could not recommend it again. As I have been to different resorts in Cuba about 20 times, I feel qualified in my assessment...More

No gym, this is not your typical resort. So don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Bring bug spray for the mosquitos and flies. Bring slippers for the room and shower. We come here to scuba dive only. Stayed here three times, and we always have zero expectation. Plan ahead with the banker, it is a hit and miss when you can exchange currency. The pool, they have been working on it for years. Hopefully, it will be finished when you get there. Remember, just keep reminding yourself, "its Cuba" and embrace the culture. Bring small gifts for housekeeping and the restaurant staff and you will be well looked after. Don't let the short older grill cook con you for your sun glasses or jewelry. We watched him in action when new tourist came into the restaurant. Have fun.
