This is a nice old downtown hotel. Lawrence is lovely so it's great to be steps away from everything! Bed was comfy. But noise from street and train could be problematic. Was impressed that each room had a white noise machine. A nice touch that helped me sleep - still needed earplugs. But rooms lack coffee machines - needs to...

Feels better than it is. Which is not to say it's a bad place to stay. I'd say it's the most upscale and best service within 30 miles. It just about manages 4 star, mainly due to the character of the building and quality of the staff, then there is a lot of effort in keeping the rooms fresh. Downers...

I love the Eldridge Hotel. The history of Lawrence and the Civil War clearly collide at the Eldridge Hotel. The history of the hotel, and it being burned by Quantrill's Raiders (more than once)is amazing and truly a sad story of the division of the States. The fact that the Eldridge survived and lives on is testament to the resolve...

Great service from the time of booking and throughout our stay. I would personally like to thank Brad that assisted me after I made an error on our reservation. He was very helpful and understanding. We stayed in the famous 506 room, it's beautiful! With a luxurious bedding, a sitting room, and a view of Massachusetts St. It exceeded expectations!...

I was on a last minute trip and the only room left was in the extension. It was a little pricy, and the building looks run down from the outside, but the lobby and rooms are nice. Big wooden shutters close the windows, making it dark and quiet to sleep. The location a block of Mass helps that also. Exterior...

Room service breakfast was really good! Food and drinks at Jayhawker were fantastic. Room was spotless and super comfortable. Perfect Location, only 1 parking ticket. Only complaint is not seeing the ghost :(

My daughter and I stayed at the Eldridge Hotel for Clarinet Fest from August 4-7, 2016. The hotel, although old, was well maintained and the service was excellent. The food in the 10 Restaurant was fabulous. The only negative was the $10 valet fee for parking the car, as we had to come and go a lot for Clarinet Fest....

The hotel rooms have air conditioning units that are very loud. Room 210 is particularly awful. The air conditioner sits in the wall directly next to the bed. Room 203 is a bit, but not much better. My stay: I stayed, for business, on a weeknight and originally got the dreaded room 210. On check-in, the nice desk clerk apologized...

The other downtown Lawrence hotels cannot compete with the personal touch of the Eldridge staff. We've been staying at the Eldridge for several years now and the staff always welcomes us like honored guests. The bar serves the best drinks and the daily specials are very fun. The breakfast is not included but the experience in the hotel restaurant is...

The Eldridge is definitely a place worth staying. Not only its historical significant in Lawrence but the comfort and amenities are superb. This was my second stay at the Eldridge and have nothing but praise. The entire staff and the great care they give to each guest was amazing. Also many wonderful restaurants and shopping all within walking distance.
