Our family of three stayed at the Cedar Hollow farm house, which is a part of the Cedar Crest Lodge. It is situated about 3.7 miles away from the main Lodge, and is a 5 min drive to get there. We were offered this farm house stay as an option by Innkeeper Matt, because we were travelling with our son who is 7 yrs old and therefore the seclusion suited us just fine, and the Lodge guests would not be disturbed by an enthusiastic and noisy kid either :)
This was the best decision that I could have made. The farmhouse is a small self contained accommodation, with its own living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, an amazing bathroom which had a standalone soaking tub, and finally an upper floor with a bedroom containing a queen bed and another area a twin bed.
The entire cottage/farmhouse was supremely comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The air conditioning units kept us cool. and there was also a cold water dispenser. There was a wall mounted TV available with Netflix and such but we hardly used it. There are also 2 small balconies on the upper floor for you to enjoy. My son had a wonderful time when he stood up there and was able to get a really close look at all the cows in the pasture right beside the farmhouse. There is a fire pit besides the house and smores making kits are provided. Another enchanting part of this location is that we had our very own pond.
And now more about the main Lodge. We did not spend too much time there except for when we were there for our breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a part of your room rate, but dinner is a meal that you have to book and pay for separately. And the meals were absolutely delicious. They also very graciously accommodated my request for kid friendly meals for my son. There were a couple of cats on the property who entertained him and kept us happy :)
We used the pool at the main Lodge and I also indulged in a massage at the spa on location. The main Lodge is comfortable, situated in a beautiful spot in the countryside and managed by a family who truly love what they do and take really good care of their guests. On our last night there we were treated to cake and ice cream, courtesy of Matt and Laura as they were celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the opening of Cedar Crest Lodge. Do give this wonderful property a visit and sample its hospitality.

My wife and I celebrated our ten year anniversary here. It was awesome! We hiked almost undisturbed on the trails throughout the property, seeing many flora and fauna (but only one other couple the whole time)! We swam in the pool, again finding ourselves the sole occupants! We had a picnic out near the garden, and enjoyed following the provided “scavenger hunt” afterwards. The first night we were there, we also purchased the “Romance” package, and were provided with some rather good champagne, and some MASSIVE chocolate covered strawberries. The next night, we danced to our song (from my Spotify) playing from a provided portable Bluetooth speaker as we watched the sun set. Then, I built a fire with the provided materials and enjoyed some s’mores out underneath a near-perfect blanket of stars. On the day we checked out, we enjoyed a 60 minute couple’s massage that left us so relaxed we didn’t want to leave.

The room was comfortable and roomy, with plenty of options to keep you in if that’s your preference, but also opened up to a private patio that led straight into the pool and garden area.

The stay was also accompanied by wonderful farm to table meals provided by our hosts (including raspberry pancakes, prime rib, Balsamic glazed strip steak, and some outstanding smoked brisket breakfast quesadillas). Speaking of our hosts, they were in a word, wonderful! We never wanted for anything, but never felt they were interfering with our ability to spend time alone nor pushing anything upon us.

The location, hosts, recreational activities, and atmosphere of the Cedar Crest Lodge were superb. It is truly a hidden gem, and I will be recommending it to anyone I know looking to get away for the weekend!

Thanks for the great experience, Cedar Crest Lodge!

We chose to spend an overnight to experience the property for the first time and to celebrate our one year anniversary. Disappointingly, it began raining hard during our drive to check in and didn't let up until the following morning. As a result, most of our time was spent in our room and we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy so many of the outdoor amenities like the fire pit, pool, hot tub, gardens, grounds, etc.... Nonetheless, we made the best of it and the room was exceptionally comfortable and the heated bathroom floors were a luxury that I don't want to go without now! We had dinner there and were not disappointed by the farm to table produce and the service was excellent. Breakfast and our picnic lunch upon checkout was very delicious and we liked the fresh bouquet of flowers awaiting us in our room as well. The plush bathrobes were a nice touch and the shower was so sophisticated we almost needed a tutorial to operate all the jets! We would definitely stay again but attempt to better plan our trip with a better weather forecast. They even provided bug spray in our room and a smores kit to enjoy the fire pit with. We recommend doing the scavenger hunt during your stay and you will get a nice souvenir upon checkout.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Cedar Crest Lodge B&B in Pleasanton, Kansas. We cannot speak highly enough about this B&B or is proprietors and staff. Matt and Laura (owners), and Andy were exceedingly kind, courteous, accommodating, and just plain good, friendly people!

The Lodge itself is immaculately maintained, and very up to date. They have recently done major renovations to several rooms, and have changed over heating and cooling so that no air is recirculated through multiple rooms (very helpful in terms of preventing the spread of germs!!). Most rooms also have private entrances as well.

The grounds also include a pool during summer months, an outdoor hot tub, sauna, and even day spa services!

There are a couple of miles of trails going through the hundred+ acres the Lodge sits on, and the Lodge itself is on top of a hill, which provides a scenic view of the countryside (it seems to be the highest point in the area) and provides a great sunset view. As the property is far out in the country, the clear night sky has to be seen to be believed.

Outstanding breakfasts are included, and there is even an option for dinners at an extra cost. The food is excellent!

We highly recommend that you take some time to truly get away and just enjoy the peace and quiet offered here.

My husband and I got married here. If you are considering an intimate elopement, THIS IS THE PLACE! Matt and Laura handled everything to make the weekend as smooth and relaxing as possible. We did the elopement package and added on a couple's massage as well. The food is incredible, especially the desserts at the end of your meal YUM. The rooms were spotless and included kuerigs, mini fridges, filtered water and ample towels. We will definitely be back for a weekend getaway in the future!

We found Cedar Crest Lodge while searching online for a romantic location to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Secluded and surrounded by nature's awesome views, Cedar Crest Lodge provided us  romance, rest and luxury.
The website doesn't do Cedar Crest justice.  Matt and Laura, the innkeepers/owners greeted us warmly and escorted us to our beautiful, clean, comfy suite where we enjoyed modern, upscale amenities, not to mention a Jacuzzi and heated towel rack and floor! Served daily to our room or on the private patio were delicious, beautifully presented two and three course meals.  No stone unturned, they attended to our every need. No reason to ever leave our room if we didn't want, but we took advantage of  peaceful trail walks, lounging on the patio or the hammock, and star-gazing by the fire.  There was even more to enjoy.  If you're looking for the perfect get-away and a boost to your overall well being, you need to visit Cedar Crest Lodge!

My husband and I stayed at the Cedar Crest Lodge for our 29th wedding anniversary this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The property is up on a hill and you can see all around you. It is gorgeous!
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed from a Keurig coffee machine with plenty of coffee's to choose from along with cream in the fridge. A stainless steel water bottle we could fill up anytime at the water cooler. There was also a DVD player and a good selection of movies to chose from just down the hall. We had soft robes, plenty of towels and the sheets were perfect. I even bought a set before we left!
Meals were delicious and made to order for my gluten free diet and portions were big just the way my hubby likes. :) Some of the meal is from their very own garden! And the eggs are from a local farmer.
There is plenty of activities to keep you busy if that's what you like. A nice mile and a half trail with ponds and wildlife to see. Outside games like corn hole, horse shoes and a few others I didn't know how to play. We could also use the hot tub and sauna and the pool if it was not so cold outside. And plenty of indoor games to choose from as well.
There was everything we needed to get a roaring fire going in the fire pit and the smores kit, complete with the sticks and all, hit the spot.
I had a much needed massage from the nicest massage therapist. So relaxing!
Staff is super helpful and friendly too!!

I would definitely recommend Cedar Crest Lodge for a relaxing get away!!

We celebrated our anniversary at Cedar Crest Lodge, and were not disappointed. Matt and Laura are outstanding hosts, and the property is exactly what we were looking for. Rooms are cozy, food was amazing (highly recommend the Chilean sea bass), spa services were enjoyable, and the location made it easy to relax for the duration of your stay. Be sure to build a fire at the self-serve fire pit and make some s’mores using the kit provided in your room! We are already looking forward to our next visit, whenever it will be!

This lodge was spectacular! Exceeded everything we hoped for. The location was breathtaking with a gorgeous 360 view that was even better at sunset with a bottle of wine on the patio, watching deer! The host called all guests by name the entire stay, amazing! Our room was beautiful! The host went over all the activities (walking trail, heated pool, hot tub, yard games like horse shoes, bocce ball, corn hole, movies & board games, hot chocolate bar, s'mores kits, and even had a scavengers hunt). He showed us to the dining room for dinner. This farm to table dining experience was amazing. I had the 14 oz prime rib, my husband had the Chilean Sea Bass both were excellent! They even ask for dining preferences to completely accommodate all guests (I asked for no vegetables in my breakfast, which they made me something special!). The huge, heated pool was wonderful & a perfect way to cool off after our hike on their marked path! We took a bottle of wine out to watch the sunset, which is a great gathering place for all guests. We chit chatted about where everyone was from, reason for visits (some anniversaries, 2 honeymoons, etc). We had a s'mores kit waiting on our bed even! They had a refrigerator with pop in the spa area. And bug spray on every outdoor table or area, a nice touch! We even were given fresh baked cookies at check out! It was the best of a bed & breakfast with the privacy of a 5 star hotel! All of the personal touches were noticed & appreciated for sure! There was absolutely NOTHING that they could improve on, we cannot wait to go back!

First, the owner has been doing this for 21 years. They have mastered the art of innkeeping. Every detail was mastered. First, upon check-in Matt asked if we wanted him to wear a mask and we responded yes, as we are Covid cautious. He graciously did and didn't make us feel bad for asking. We stayed in the French Quarter room which we loved. Very private, elegant and confortable decor and has a spacious deck to sit out. We loved that they didn't skimp on things. Our unit had: Heated towel rack, fully stocked Keurig, Smores kit, high-end and super soft sheets, soft tissues/toilet paper (not the usual sandpaper see through stuff normally provided by hotels). We enjoyed walking the trails which were longer than we thought, perhaps 1.5 miles each way. Adirondack chairs are by most of the ponds to sit and enjoy the view. We then had dinner on our deck which was so peaceful. The sky was more beautiful than we've ever seen. Not a view we'd ever get living closer to a city. All in all we had a perfect overnight and would definitely recommend to anyone wishing for a getaway close to KC.
