The Simmer Motel may not serve breakfast, but in my opinion, it's as comfy and friendly and has as much personality as any bed-and-breakfast -- and for a lot cheaper than most B&Bs! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a very faint slighly musty smell in the room -- but nothing... More

We arrived mid-afternoon on the Saturday of the July 4th week-end to find a nice young lady who told us that she did not know anything about availabilities or prices. She phoned the owner (busy buying second-hand furniture for the rooms) and eventually, she gave us the "nuptial" room for $92 the night. We intended to stay 2 nights but... More

We were full for the 4th of July, at the time of check in you were told that there was no rooms for the 4th. I was informed by my employee that you would like to stay if we got a cancelation. When I got back to the motel after shopping for supplies. I called to confirm reservations to see... More

I have to say after reading all the wonderful reviews, we were disappointed. I made reservations on line. No one was in the office when we arrived, but there is a phone there to call and they would come, not a problem. Girl came up to office smoking and put her cigarette out on the ground just outside the office... More

The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. Everything was handy and the owner was very nice. The stay was reminiscent of years-gone-by when life was simpler and happier. This is a great way to get a good night's sleep off of the beaten path.

The Simmer Motel is one of the best lodging facilities I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It's hometown spirit, friendliness, and attention to detail is beyond reproach. The manager and her staff that run the Simmer Motel are hometown residents who take pride in their community and enjoy the atmosphere of hometown living. They are always there... More

This woman has gone to the extreme to make your visit to her motel perfect. It is decorated in homemade quilts and accessories. You have wifi, a good air conditioner and everything is clean and operating. I had good WiFi reception and my husband read a book so we can not comment on the TV. She is available to you... More

Driving across Kansas on I-70 I was trying to find a place to land for the night. Most of the chain hotels had terrible ratings but I came across the Simmer Motel in Wamego. The reviews were great and the motel did not disappoint me. Well worth the extra drive off the Interstate.

Heading out of KSU on our road trip, we spotted this classic motel, complete with playground equipment. Tabitha welcomed two tired travelers to a homey room, and described her list of local restaurants. The room's personal decorating touches distinguished it from the usual chain motel. Thanks to their convenient laundry area, we finished several days worth of laundry too.

Road trip! I loved that we chose this non chain, foreign owned hotel. We were looking for clean rooms and a pool for our little granddaughters. We found it! The people are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are all decorated with personal care and each different. The pool was small and might not have worked if the girls were... More

We are enjoying a road trip that has a few planned destinations but the advantage of no deadlines and taking meandering routes. Today we toured the Truman Library in Independence, MO. We are heading to Colorado so we started west on I-70. We decided to exit and take state hwy. 24. We were starting to look for a place to... More
