We love being in the mountains and seeing all the small villages and passing cyclists and hikers so when we discovered this little gem of a hotel it was perfect for us. We enjoyed the most delicious lunch in the beautiful courtyard on a lovely sunny day. As we stayed overnight we were also able to enjoy a light meal in the evening and a delicious breakfast the following morning. The hotel is really tucked away in a little hamlet with only one or two other bars in the area which we could find. The welcome was warm and friendly and we very much look forward to our next stay.

Overview: we are a couple who were doing a weeks walking from village to village. This was stop three. Arrival: met at the door and shown to our room by a very pleasant young man. We walked so it was easy to find, on the square. Room: very special, warm, amazing bathroom, lounge area, kitchen area, two large windows overlooking the square with balconies. Immaculate. Other areas: very nice but as we were the only two staying and the restaurant was not open we did not really see them at their best. Food: we were on half board, they provided very nice food in our room, would have preferred to have eaten in the restaurant but as it was not open this was fine. However, there was loads of space in the room and the ordered wine was delicious. Breakfast was yummy. Area: we went to the bar by the piscine and got a drink (nice atmosphere), they also provided us with a picnic lunch (as informed) by the lady at breakfast, who was very helpful. Would really love to stay again, perhaps a bit later in the year when there is more going on. However, as we were walking this suited us perfectly.

Living on the coast we needed to get away from the crowds for a night. This place was ideal. The little village is charming with a bar and a couple of shops. There is also a public swimming pool that you can use for a couple of euros, there is also a cafe bar onsite. The hotel is stunning and a lot of money has been spent on reforming what was a old house. The bar area is really welcoming and so are the staff. This area also doubles as the breakfast room. We had dinner in the courtyard which is lovely. The menu was a €25 per head degustacion menu excluding drinks. The food is okay nothing to set the world on fire but fine. Saying that options are very limited in the village for dining. The room we had (room 3) was great but not for people with limited mobility as the bedroom is on the mezzanine above the lounge area. It has views over the village square and the church. The room as with all of the hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. All in all a pleasant experience and one we would repeat tomorrow.

Great little rustic village hotel. The village itself doesn't have much to write home about but the surrounding countryside is great for walking with some lovely walks through pine and oak woods. The roads are pretty quiet and good for cycling. The village is therefore a good base. The hotel is a restored traditional building which has large beams and natural stone work and tiles. The decor is traditional. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless. We had a room above the main dining room which can be noisy due to the hard surfaces so would avoid that room next time - worth going for a superior room with balcony and view over village roof tops. The thing that really sets this hotel apart is the staff and the food. There was a set meal every evening though preferences allergies etc are all accounted for. Food was fresh imaginative and interesting using fresh local ingredients. The chef is a lovely lady who seems to work from dawn to late in the night to prepare her wonderful meals. They even as a special favour prepared a meal for us the night they are normally closed. Interesting selection of localish wines. Staff were all lovely all doing best to make stay as enjoyable as possible. Rustic authentic friendly small hotel with superb food.

We have been staying in this hotel and eating in the restaurant for almost 10 years and it our most favorite hotel anywhere. The rooms are a boutique hotel style, each one designed different and with a different view, extremely accommodating, including all one would need, all very pretty. Beds are really comfortable, and with the silence around - a perfect place for a quiet deep sleep. The surroundings are an empty large high valley with beautiful scenery all around. The staff is really friendly, helpful and always smiling. The food is homey, healthy and really delicious. And the owners are wonderful! It is also a perfect place for groups, there is a large, beautiful space for groups (which we used often as well) and possibilities to do many activities in the area. Both the hotel and restaurant are full of style which should have cost much more than it does.
