If you stayed in a hotel or motel lately, you were probably able to enjoy a continental breakfast. Many lodging facilities now offer this service as part of their amenity package. In fact, it’s gotten to the point where a continental breakfast is to be expected, and it is the rare venue that doesn’t offer this perk. What is a continental breakfast and why is it being offered?
A continental breakfast is simple, not fancy. Don’t expect an elaborate buffet. Depending on the hotel or motel you might receive coffee, tea, assorted juices, rolls, bagels, pastries and perhaps individual sized cereal boxes.
In the morning (dog still barking), we were given a room in another building and told that we would received a refund for the first night. When we went to check out the next morning, the sign on the lobby/check-in office door said "OPEN", but the door was locked. We knocked repeatedly, waited several minutes, and finally left.
We did not receive the promised refund. We also received no follow-up response to numerous emails and telephone calls to Red Roof Inn.
I provided details as requested, but never heard back from anyone, although I was promised a response within 48 hours. Nothing.
