Hello Travelers-This review is long overdue. In 2022 I called Candlewood Suites Hotel my home away from home, six months stay while on an assignment in the food and beverage industry. I returned in April 2023 for work and stayed for two weeks. In 2022 this hotel was going through renovations and considering how extensive the work was, Dipak Patel the general manager and his front of the house management team, Eric, Lena and Robbie (I will mention them later in the review) worked tirelessly while on duty to make sure the renovations did not interfere with guests experience, now think about this, a three story hotel, 80 rooms, thousands of guests and the whole exterior of this Candlewood Suites was under construction, oh and did I mention every suite room was getting a facelift toooo. I lived through 80% of this building renovation, they kept the inside clean, clean, clean. You could not tell what went on that day, my room always smelled good, no dirty floors, counters and I rarely heard any loud noise. So, thank you team for the extra hard work you went through in 2022. I left at a couple of days before Christmas, and I returned in April 2023,,,,,,,,,,WOW WOW and more WOW. Absolutely outstanding hotel, Candlewood Suites @ Ad Color, Lexington Kentucky is a new Hotel to the least. First off, the exterior looks GREAT, all new plywood, stucco, paint, fixtures and insulation, just think of a much healthier hotel with all the old gone. Now the interior lobby will be renovated soon so let's talk about the fabulous changes to the rest of the hotel. All new beautiful carpet in all the public walkways, halls and offices. By the time I make it to my room I'm already feeling the classy changes. Smart minds went into creating a beautiful room that has style and made me feel at home. I noticed the new 55" tv in the corner all new hardwood floors, new kitchenette with all new cabinets, countertops, cool sink and facet, dishwasher and of course the refrigerator. A huge closet and new desktop and dresser drawer. The bed mattress and bedding new, clean and folded to a crisp. Night tables with UHB outlets, alarm clock and even a recliner with its own desk (table). Then I opened up the bathroom door and was amazed. All new sink, big cool mirror with lighting, a hot shower with thick glass sliding doors new shower fixtures and thick white towels. I LOVED MY SHOWER they helped me start the day fresh and end the day fresh CUDOS on the great shower. Oh, I forgot it has a toilet to, ha-ha. Now, one the most important part of my stay revolves around the service I receive. I refer to the front of house as the breakfast, lunch and dinner team. First Eric is always on duty in the morning. I like Eric's early morning conversations. Heck he just got up like me and he always lets me know if I can walk out the door and go to work, meaning if I don't have my coffee and banana, I am not ready. Ask Eric the great places to eat he suggested several and everyone was a knockout. Lena is lunch/afternoon supervisor. No matter what type of day we are having when i arrive from work she ALWAYS has a smile on her face and that's contagious. Lena is always helpful if you need anything for your room i.e. towel, soap, dishwashing detergent, heck even a vacuum cleaner for those rare times! And then to round off the day Robbie has third shift and let me thank him for his attention to everything that happens at night and his ability to add that security at night and early mornings. For those late nights returning to hotel, he is always alert and making sure we can get to our rooms safely, I've seen him in action and that makes me feel safe when I put my head to the pillow and sleep very well. I will end this review with my final observation. The bond each team member carries throughout the day is a deep respect for their General Manager Dipak. I witness and closely bonded team that actually care about each other and in today's climate I find that a wonderful and inspiring quality of leadership. My husband I stayed here for 6 days. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating to anything we needed. The location was great. We were close to all the things we wanted to do. We went to the Horse Park, did a horse tour and went to the Kentucky Castle. The prices were very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here on the way back to Michigan from Florida. Lena took great care of us. She treated my wife & I like family along with our dog Maggie! Got upgraded to a one bedroom suite that was just remodeled. Two 50 inch tv’s and a total refreshed look. Enjoyed our stay very much!

So, I started back with my old company and with that said. I travel from California to New York and everything in between from top to bottom. I'm only in my hometown for 2 months out of the year. That means I stay in a lot of hotels. From Hilton, Wyndham, Marriott, and IHG. Out of all of them this hotel has the best service! Their staff is friendly and accommodating. If you need something it gets done! The room is very nice from the basic to the suites. They truly make it feel like it's a real home! What more can you ask for?

I have stayed at this location for 4 months in 2022. I want to commend the management Mr Dupoc Patel, Eric, Lena and the maintenance staff for a job well done. They make you feel at home and are always in a great mood, which is very refreshing. I have always been treated like a preferred guest and it makes me feel welcome and appreciated. I have lived through an extensive remodeling at this hotel and the end results are going to be incredibly beautiful. I am so satisfied here and will stay here again and again.

Very clean and homey. It was a Good stay. We booked for two nights and felt at home. Also, it is close to the hospital, so it is convenient for family members to take care of their patients. It is also close to some restaurants and stores if needing to buy snacks and drinks.

Our room is clean and it has a kitchenette and recliner. The queen bed is very tight towards the wall. It’s $75 for the dog. The common areas are less clean and signage is handwritten. Based on the messages about no cash taken after 8 pm, one assumes the clientele or neighborhood create some risk. I would stay elsewhere next time to get a cleaner and nicer hotel for the money.

Free parking but parking lot was not plowed after a snowstorm. Handicapped access was hindered by the ice in the parking lot. Nice staff. Clean comfortable room. Nice recliner and convenient kitchenette. Good workspace. No breakfast and not real close to restaurants. Good experience that could have great with a little more effort.

Our group of friends has come to Lexington to enjoy a weekend at Keeneland many times over the last several years. Each year we have stayed in a different hotel. The Candlewood Suites would easily rank last on the list. While the rooms did have an efficiency kitchen, they were very small rooms with one queen size bed that has one side pushed up against the wall with a nightstand only on one side of the bed. The walls are not well insulated, so you hear all activity in the hallway and rooms above you. Furnishings just had a cheap, low budget feel. No maid service on a daily basis…if you need an extra towel or your trash emptied, you will need to ask for it. Overall, the place was clean and the staff was courteous and friendly. You might think that based on this review that the hotel would be a bargain price, but weekend rates were $250/night.…

Lexington was in the 2nd week of 2 week vacation on the return trip to Iowa. I have stayed in Candlewood hotels before and have almost always been pleased with the room accommodations. With all the rooms I had booked in advance of vacation, I had forgotten that the room was one with separate bedroom from living room. The room was extremely clean. There were 2 maintenance items (not critical) that I reported to front desk right after check in early evening. The next morning, I got a phone call from manager wanting to know if I wanted to someone sent up right away to fix things (first time in 50 years I've had hotel staff want to fix something right away). I thanked him with appreciation for wanting to take care of things so promptly but told him he could take care of the issues when we checked out a day later. When we checked out a day later, he provided my wife and I with a free water and juice for our drive to the next location. For anyone who has stayed at a Candlewood, you will need to remember they do not offer a free breakfast in the morning because there is a kitchenet in the room.
