Detailed Reviews
We have stayed at many Fairfield locations in the past and during the current situation. The stay at this location, in comparison to just other Fairfield locations, was disappointing for several reasons.
During the current environment, all hotels are telling you that they are going all out to keep all their rooms clean and safe. Except our room had a sock on the floor under the TV. If housekeeping missed a sock on the floor, what else did they miss?
The deadbolt lock on our door was not usable. When trying to lock the door it was obvious that the deadbolt and the hole in the door jamb were not aligned properly which prevented the use of the deadbolt. It is hard for me to believe that we were the first occupants to notice and report this and it still has not been corrected.
Finally, even during the current situation, other Fairfield's are providing reduced options for breakfast, e.g., cereals, yogurt, danish, bagels, coffee or tea. At this location there was no coffee or tea and we received a bag with a muffin, a snack bar and a small bottle of water.

I am so sorry to see that my housekeeping team did not clean the room as they are trained to do. I will most definitely be showing your comments to the head of the department . I can also assure you that if we had known about the deadbolt, we would have had maintenance fix it. We put the safety of our guests as our number 1 priority. I will make sure that it gets repaired immediately. We do offer coffee and tea 24 hours per day just off of our lobby area. I am sorry that you did not see that.

My husband and I stayed the night here while traveling through because we were moving homes. This place was amazing to us! Fast, prompt service. The shower head was great- great pressure and felt like a massage! The room was clean and they accommodated us a room so we could see our Uhaul through the night. In the morning they gave us a grab & go breakfast that we didn’t even expect! It consisted of: fruit, hard boiled egg, a maple bacon muffin and a strawberry “pop-tart” all of which was delicious! I definitely recommend staying here!

I have stayed at this property at various times for over a decade, but this was my first post-COVID visit.
Right from the start there were issues. They don't clean up the rooms during stays, and that is understandable in light of COVID. However, they need to put some towels in the room. I was there for 3 days, and I had to go right back to the desk to get enough hand towels and wash cloths for my stay, which the GM brought up. I then realized that the Kleenex box was empty, so the GM brought up a fresh box of them. All of the towels and washcloths have a dullish gray cast to them, and they could stand to be replaced.
My room had an odd smell to it, but I did not try to switch since there were only 2 other non-handicap rooms like it and the place was mobbed all 3 nights. It actually smelled like smoke, but the hotel has never allowed smoking. The hotel does allow pets, and I had one prior occasion where my room smelled like pet urine and I had to be moved. I am not sure if the odd smell was due to some cleaning product or some other issue.
I was in the one bedroom suite, which is the priciest room in the place. However, it needs upkeep, as the bed away from the window sagged right down to the middle, and should be replaced immediately. The carpet by the bedroom door had actually separated, and there were all kinds of scratches on the paint on the walls. These were the kind of things that probably could have been addressed during COVID when rooms were not being used. One of the two elevators broke down on Sunday and was down up until the time I left Monday morning. That was not good with the place booked up with soccer kids Friday and Saturday and a tour bus there Sunday.
The breakfast area has never been close to big enough when the place was full, and that was the case Saturday and Sunday when it was overrun by the soccer families. I was glad I brought Nutrigrain bars to eat in my room, as I did not see any bagged breakfast items that would have been safe from the touch of a bunch of unvaccinated kids.
The parking lot can also get tight when the place is full. Making matters worse is that pickups with trailers are able to park on the road immediately behind the parking lot, but some guests instead park the truck/trailer sideways in the lot and take up 6 to 8 spaces. There should be signs telling those jerks that they have to park on the street if they have trailers, as they should not get 6 to 8 spaces while paying for one room (I have no trouble with tour buses parking sideways in the parking lot, as they represent far more rooms taken than spaces taken).
As you can see from reading the hotel's response to other visitors' comments, the new GM has been on the job for just over a month. He seems genuinely determined to do a good job, but it will take him time (and the hotel's money) to get this place back into shape.

Ok place to stay, would stay again for the logistics and location. Was not impressed with the cleanliness of the hot tub & pool, asked for several things from front desk during extended stay which were not done when asked. Sometimes front desk was not that friendly. Night time front desk attendants were more attentive and responsive.
Turned fan on in bathroom, that room instantly smelled of strong cigarette smoke and the whole suite smelled right after. Halls smelled of recreational smoke often.

Humiliating , horrible and disgusting experience
I requested a 4pm check out for being Marriott bonvoy titanium and it was approved, I requested to sleep until 4pm. And nobody could disturb knocking my door. At 11.30 the first knocking " housekeeping", the second one around 1pm " housekeeping" again and I said to this girl that I requested a 4pm check out. I was sleeping until 4.30pm receptionist called me asking if I want to extend, I said yes because I didn't sleep well due to constant disturbing when I requested do not disturb... she said that unfortunately they are sold out. I requested 10 minutes to jump Out of the bed and get my luggage ready. At 4.45pm somebody knocked my door really hard like trying to break the door. I opened and he said that he is the manager and they will charge me half a day extra, I said " please let me explain, I'm a titanium member so I have 4pm check out compulsory" he said " check out is at 12, we can do an exception at 2pm" no, titanium is COMPULSORY 4pm check out and he shout saying " I manage this hotel, not you and u are not gonna tell me how to do it"... I asked him at least 5 times to let me explain why I was in the room at 4.45pm. He was Interrumpting me so I couldn't even speak... he said "we don't need people like you here" I said " I will complaint with Marriott" he said " I don't care at all, complaint all u want but u are not coming back here". Then one housekeeper told me he is the manager because the real manager is on vacations and his name is Suresh ( to recognize him, he sounds like indian) I said " let me explain". And gain interrupting me he did " u shut up or I will charge u the whole day". He was threading me, not even my mother treated me like this in my entire life. I called Marriott bonvoy customer service and the representative was speechless, she said that this is unacceptable and this denigrating behavior will be taken seriously. They refunded the night and they gave me 30.000 points. Shame on Schulte company ( it s not Marriott company, it s franchised) and I hope u guys reading this review don't stay in this disgusting place.

On behalf of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Lexington North team, I would like to sincerely apologize for our employee's behavior. We arrived early evening with no reservation. Roshai was very welcoming and made us very glad we pulled into this hotel rather, than one of the others nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable. On checkout, the gentleman at the desk assisted us with a minor difficulty in our room efficiently and without hesitation.
We will certainly stay here again when traveling through.

In an era where finding hotel staff is very difficult, it's wonderful to run into energetic, happy and helpful employees. We stayed four days and three nights. No matter who worked the front desk at any time of the day, they were so nice. They saw us dragging in after a day of bicycle riding on the Bourbon Burn and always offered us a kind word and water. The morning breakfast crew keeping the food out rarely interacted, but it did not detract from the experience.
The physical hotel is the owners responsibility to invest capex to keep it current. There are tell-tell signs everywhere of a well worn product. There are stains on the carpet, missing paint on the walls, toilet seat askew against the wall, dirty or mismatched grout, broken parameter fence, and scratches everywhere.
I probably would have landed on five stars because the service was so good that who cares about the aging product; however, the free breakfast was kind of an issue. The hard-boiled eggs were frozen and thawed. The white had separated and the center was liquefied. The scrambled eggs were free. I ate them for the protein before our daily bike ride, but they were not good. They ran out of bananas.

We stayed at this hotel in July on a long trip from Virginia to Kansas and back again. It is conveniently located, right off I-64, right beside Cracker Barrel and near McDonalds. We were fortunate enough to stay in a suite on the 6th floor and were pleasantly surprised to have a scenic view of a horse farm that couldn't be seen from floor level because of the trees. There was a relaxing place to walk behind the hotel where we would pass by other horses and many bunnies. The breakfast was only a bag breakfast, but the two restaurants were very convenient. We would stay here again.

I am generally not a harsh critic of hotels but this location disappointed on many levels. Check in started with an irritated employee who seemed annoyed to engage in work even though the lobby was empty. Hallway carpet was filthy. Room was beyond dated and furniture was worn years beyond replacement level. Carpets, curtains and walls all have significant stains some of which could have been removed by simple cleaning (huge red wine stain on the wall. Am shocked that this can stay in the Marriott system. Hotel was also expensive for the market. Worst hotel experience I have had in 10 years.

We appreciate the constructive feedback as it helps the property improve. The hallway carpet was actually cleaned this week. I will be looking into the other deficiencies referenced in the the review. The service component is extremely concerning as we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service. If you have time please contact me directly regarding your check in experience 859-977-5870. It would be very helpful

The hotel room was clean, and the property was quiet. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is just the standard one you’ll see at most hotels in this price range. However, there is a Cracker Barrel right next door. It’s easy access to the interstate as well as to downtown Lexington. The beds were on the firm side for us, and the room could use some USB outlets.
We stayed two nights here on this trip, and would stay here again if we were in the area.

yes, everything including bathrooms.
Good morning. Unfortunately, we can not 100% for sure that a room has not had a pet. We do have a policy that we put the pets on the second and third floor when a guest does check in with a pet. There are some guest, that do not report a pet at check in, so then, we do not find out until they check out when housekeeping reports hair in the room. We do deep clean room, and shampoo the carpets and couch.
I hope this helps and we would love for you to stay at our property. I just can not say 100%, that a pet has not been in a room
Sincerely,
John
