The front desk personnel are nice enough and the room is clean. Only 2Mb Internet and then the connection is intermittent. Bring a hot spot if you're staying here for work. Verizon has good speed in this area. Also, no restaurants within a short walk.
Decided to take a 2 day trip with my small children and when we asked for suggestions on things to do in the area the gentleman told us he didn't know but the pamphlets were in between the doors as you head out. Vending machines...More
The facility has been upgraded recently and is in excellent shape. The breakfast room was staffed at all times by two very accommodating ladies and was one of the best breakfast setting we have experienced. I have stayed in motels 80 - 100 nights a...More
The hotel was acceptable appearance wise. I would have probably hired another painter though as there was paint splattered all over our back door and the trimming is horrible.
Our toilet did not seem to be bolted properly to the ground so everytime you sit...More

you will need a car get to any place to eat. The hotel has a breakfast no other offering. Within a mile of the hotel there is the Cardinal Grill that reminds me a bit like a Chilli's or other mid scale burger place. Salads pretty good. Good burgers and chicken. Then at the other direction, left from the hotel, drive to the second light ( by Mc Donalds) and turn right. On the left side of the road is a green awning pizza place, name escapes me) but the Pizza is very good.

Even though Kentucky Kingdom is in the hotel's backyard you would have a pretty lengthy walk to get to is because you have to go to one of the gates to get onto the property and then double back to get to the Kingdom. Take a look at the map on the hotel website to get an idea of how far it actually is. The neighborhood is fine but there is a ton of traffic. I would not recommend walking, especially if you have little kids. The hotel has a shuttle, you could check to see if they go there. We go to a convention at the main expo center and drive over. No sense in getting worn out before you even start!
