Located at the corners of Fourth and Broadway in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, The Brown Hotel is one of Louisville's most treasured landmarks. Built in 1923 at a cost of $4 million by J. Graham Brown, the hotel was a magnet for many prominent guests and celebrities during the 1920s through the 1950s. In 1971, two years after the founder passed away, The Brown closed as a hotel and later reopened as the Board of Education building.

To clarify, We enjoy the old hotels, especially all the Historic Hotels of America, they come with a certain expectation of patina, peeling paint, or original plaster needing repair. That is ok, they are old. Our pet peeve is cleanliness, and the full service at a 4 star

Beautiful interior with a classic feel and impeccable service. The staff makes you feel like part of the family. A lobby bar with great food and a bourbon list. I will stay here everytime I stop in Louisville.

When you turn on to 4th St. from Broadway, The Brown Hotel is on your right. You can either pull up in front for valet parking or go a few more feet, turn right which takes you in to the parking garage. Park on the 2nd level and there is a walkway on the left of the elevators that take you inside to check in. Very easy!

10 minutes driving. You can't walk but would recommend Uber since there are a lot of drivers in the area.
