Had a great time camping. Very nice facilities and roomy. There were 7 of us and we call enjoyed ourselves. The trails are great.... Even the off the beaten trail. My ONLY complaint is the ridiculous Horror Trail. I found it to be VERY distasteful with their being families with young children and those of us who do not engage...

Thank you for your post and your comments. We appreciate when folks let us know about their stay. Sorry that the Haunted Trail was your only complaint. However that event is one of the more popular events we host and big reason that our campground is full in October. Again THANK YOU for your post but most of all for...

Carter Caves is one of the best State Parks in KY. Not only does is have several caves to choose from, it has a pool, mini golf and horse rides plus tons of activities. We love to camp here as it is very close to the mini golf and there is always neat activities here. This year we learned to...

I love Carter Caves. We go every year....This year was terrible. No activities, No supervision of children riding bikes after dark and riding in front of cars and on vehicle bumpers. Ranger drove through one time in 4 days. Quiet time well no rules lets party till 1 am. Very sad how such a great place has went so wrong....

Thank you for your post. I'm assuming that your stay was recent. The activities generally run through Labor Day Weekend and we cut back after then due to we loose staff because the staff are mainly college students that return back to school. As for the host there are two campground hosts in the campground. Once recently experienced a medical...

Stayed in a cabin at Carter Caves State Park and it was excellent! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. Quiet and relaxing. The staff went above and beyond to make our weekend fun. The gift shop was very nice and had something for everyone.

We visited July 29th-31st and we are already planning to go back before winter comes! Everything and everyone was amazing on this trip. We went horseback riding 2 days in a row, hiking and 2 cave tours. Saturday the Bat Cave walking tour was cancelled due to high water and someone from the parks called us in plenty of time...

We booked a cottage for the weekend . I was pleasantly surprised at how well kept it was from the flooring to the high ceilings . We were located in front of a trail/repelling cliff worth breath taking views of rock formations some a couple hundred foot tall . There were activities scheduled everyday from line dancing to tie dying...

Great family atmosphere with loads to do with kids. Park is full of adventures. Horse riding, swimming, putt putt, cave exploration, hiking trials are just some of the main activities. Camp ground is clean and family friendly.

I was traveling back home to Louisville KY from a family vacation trip in North Carolina. My mom wanted to do a bit of sight seeing and I just wanted to get home, reluctantly I looked at the atlas to see what we could do that wasn't too far off the main rout home and found Carter Caves. I wasn't...

We went there for a youth activity with our church. The rooms had great views. We had just got in our room when my sons and I seen a doe crossing into the wooded area behind the resort. The rock formations and the sheer beauty of the place was worth every minute on the road to get there.

Carter caves is a staple of my childhood memory and a favorite place to visit, still. The lodge and cabins are accurately shown in their website. They aren't fancy and definitely give the feel of a motel from the 90s but the visual tour is accurate. The park is well maintained and fun to hike. Lots to do for many...
