We spent a lovely long weekend here for our Anniversary and Husband’s Birthday. It was perfect—-everything from the hospitality, gorgeous property that is rich with history with space to roam and explore to the comfortable accommodations! As a personal concierge I always pay close attention to the quality of accommodations and level of customer service whenever we travel and everything related to our stay with Ron and Elise at the Ruin was perfect and exceeded our expectations! Such a wonderful weekend with a few sweet surprises. Highly recommend!

The Wallaces and their unique and enchanting Bed and Breakfast (oh it is so much more) hosted our film production for a week and I cannot even begin to tell you the extent of their exemplary hospitality, coziness and luxurious accommodations, not to mention the almost magical setting of the property itself. From the old world feel, the ancient stone fences and building remnants of an era gone by while masterfully integrated in the more modern structures offering a unique amalgam of modernity and history. I will return here soon and this time without the trappings of a movie set, to enjoy the tranquility of “The Ruin Bed and Breakfast”.

Absolutely stunning! The hosts were so thoughtful and went above and beyond to accommodate us. If you are looking for a vacay or quick get away this is it. By far the best I definitely recommend and will be back.

The ruin was absolutely stunning, perfect location for filming medieval fantasy films, and anything else. I enjoyed my time there, the highly updated historical property is beautiful to look at, and incredibly clean

You cannot get a more authentic Kentucky stay than the Ruin Bed & Breakfast. A historic Bourbon distillery surrounded by beautiful horse farms. Truly the best in the bluegrass. During your stay you will enjoy beautiful scenery, a creek, a luxurious pool with hot tub & fitness center. Take a walk around the grounds and enjoy a peaceful time out of the hustle and bustle.

The experience at The Ruin was amazing! We will be returning in 2022 to stay with Elise and Ron Wallace again. They are the kindest and most thoughtful hosts you can imagine. The accommodations were exquisite, no detail was missed. Elise prepared fabulous breakfasts that raised the bar for BNB's! Kentucky is a lovely state to visit, the surrounding Lexington area is tranquil with horse farms and distilleries but the gem is The Ruin Bed and Breakfast!

We loved our second visit as much as the first time....Elise and Ron are lovely hosts. Their property and home are gorgeous, a perfect 2 couple place to stay. Breakfast is lovely in the sunroom/porch. Elise’s recommendations for horse farms to visit, restaurants, and bourbon tastings were so helpful.

We lucked upon The Ruin when planning a trip to see friends, family and experience parts of “the bourbon trail”. We were blown away by the beauty of Kentucky horse country and by Elise, Ron and their beautiful oasis, The Ruin. We spent 2 nights in July then made plans to return for 2 nights in August. The breakfasts were delicious, the accommodations top notch and the hospitality beyond comparison. Can’t wait until we return.

We had such an amazing time while staying at The Ruin B&B outside of Lexington. Ron and Elise are amazing hosts and treated us just like family. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Elise even made us special treats daily to snack on. The grounds, house, and everything is immaculate and beautiful. This is truly a hidden gem. We are already planning another visit.

This is not your typical Bed & Breakfast - it is SO much more! Nestled in a private setting among the rolling pastures of the famed Kentucky horse farms, you will find The Ruin where you can enjoy exceptional accommodations. On the site of a former distillery, the owners have created a masterpiece of design that is both stunning and welcoming. Guests are housed in a private building comprised of 2 bedrooms with a connecting living area. It's perfect for 2 couples or a family. Every detail was considered when looking to the comfort of the guests. Beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious with plenty of towels and amenities, and a huge closet contained racks for 2 suitcases so that the living areas could be kept clear. In the common area, there was a kitchenette with refrigerator, Keurig, and microwave. Beverages and snacks were complimentary provisions. The entire place was immaculately clean. Breakfast was served daily in the owners' residence by our charming hosts who made us feel like family. While the food was delicious, the real treat was having the opportunity to look at their beautiful and thoughtfully designed home that is extraordinary in its many architectural features. The location is close to many sites for bourbon, horses, and great local food. We loved our time at The Ruin and would highly recommend it as a destination of its own in the beautiful horse country of Kentucky.
