Historic well preserved turn of the century Inn maintained beautifully with period comfortable furnishings, Family photos, and art work. The Inn is centrally located to our activies. With modern comfort we enjoyed the wonderful after tea servings and menued breakfasts. With Covid precautions we always felt safe throughout the Inn. Extremely efficient Inn Keepers Pamela and Richard celebrated our Anniversary with Flowers in our room and excellent dinner reservations. A personalzed list of activities with recommendations gave us the best of events during our visit. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

What a fabulous experience. We are 3 generations traveling together and the hosts of this amazing Inn were welcoming and attentive to all our needs. What a memorable stay we had! The home is immaculate, relaxing. and perfectly appointed. We also appreciated the modern bathrooms and incredibly comfy beds. Great TV selections for the teens as well. The hosts are also very covid conscientious and careful. We were traveling with high risk individuals and felt at ease at the Inn. Treats, beverages, and breakfast were perfect - great selection for all palates. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Overall perfect stay.

A beautifully restored century-plus home with 4 rooms, on a nice, quiet property with massive trees. The innkeepers - Pamela and Richard , were extremely charming. And very knowledge about the area and the local history. Every detail was attended to from welcome snacks in the room, to breakfast the next morning, to the room and public spaces. The food was amazing and the small additional touches like fresh flowers and art created by the owners added to the charm and ambiance. The pre visit survey allowed us to select our preferences in advance. The inn is in the heart of Kentucky’s horse country and the massive and numerous horse farms are spectacular. There are many excellent restaurants nearby (within 15-20 minutes) and the innkeepers can give you all the details. We were passing through and only stayed one night but it is definitely a place we would consider revisiting for several nights to unwind in the future.

We stayed here the second night of our Bourbon Trail Weekend so that we could be close to several distilleries in the area. Pamela and Richard were fantastic hosts and the property was great. We got the tea basket for our room with the sandwiches and we were so full we skipped dinner. Great food in the morning. Everything was fantastic.

I cannot write enough about how fabulous our weekend was! Pamela & Richard pampered us in every sense of the word. Rooms were bright & welcoming, and bed was super comfortable. Living room & back patio were great places to gather and talk. And breakfast was exceptional. Don't miss the baked oatmeal! We had a last-minute change with our group, and they had no problem accommodating us. I would go back in a second!

We chose this Inn because it seemed well-located for a few days in bourbon country. It was perfect. Richard and Pamela were awesome. They had several excellent suggestions and were available for whatever we needed. The afternoon tea snack was a delightful surprise. Highly recommend!

You want a bedroom that is not like a typical hotel box. You want an Inn Keeper to be personable, knowledgeable of the area, and most of all, a great cook. Having visited Pamala and Richard when they were located in Maine, I came to their location with very high expectations, and they exceeding them. From the careful Covid check on the front steps as we arrived to ensure our and everyone's safety. To the amazing room that frankly is larger than our own bedroom room at home. Nothing cookiecutter about it. The fresh sandwich on the patio was great because of our long drive. The breakfast was out of this world. Pam's twist on French Toast is worth spending a night just so you can try it. Just a last FYI. Book early. This is a very popular place to stay.

Charred Oaks Inn Innkeepers Richard and Pamela ensured that my three days at their lovely B&B were sublime. Their 1810 home is beautifully restored with comfortable public rooms filled with period furniture and Richard’s oil paintings - a restful, yet elegant setting. I was traveling alone on business and chose Versailles as a base to explore bluegrass country. Pamela introduced guests to each other, and both she and Richard engaged in leisurely conversation with them, never appearing rushed. Returning guests I spoke to told me that they regarded Richard and Pamela as friends because of their warmth and helpfulness. The inn is on a busy street but set so far back one does not hear noise. My upstairs window-filled room was spacious and comfortable. The back yard has patio tables, including one with a fire pit. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown the living room opened to a home bar room, equipped with Kentucky bourbon and wine. Afternoon appetizers and drinks used to be provided and hopefully will resume once the pandemic ends. Lastly, Pamela is a foodie and recommended out of this world restaurants I would not have found on my own. Richard created a driving route for me on his own initiative and printed it out for me. I can’t praise them enough. They also strongly recommended visiting a horse farm and made a reservation for me to see one. I highly recommend the Charred Oaks Inn for an excellent B&B experiences and as a great base for exploring bluegrass country.

My husband and I spent three nights at Charred Oaks. This is a most delightful inn, and the innkeepers, Pam and Richard were wonderful hosts. Our downstairs room was spacious and pretty. Our breakfasts and afternoon picnic baskets were the best food we ate during our two-week Kentucky trip. We will be back!
