We loved the Doubletree! We visited for the Garth Brooks concert with our boys and our niece. Our suite was clean and comfortable for our group of 6. Sardae at the front desk was wonderful. She was friendly, helpful, and willing to give us recommendations for restaurants in the area. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Baton Rouge.
What a great experience from booking to getting help with a good room. HANNAH was fantastic and exactly what service industry business needs at their front end. She was much help and so delightful to talk to. When we arrived, she greeted us and helped with all our questions, and set a very positive and fun tone. I was also pleasantly surprised when we departed in the morning and got to meet CHRIS at the front desk and, again, a very cheerful, uplifting greeting, help, and conversation. The management at this hotel knows how to hire the right talent. These days this is not so easy, and I can say that HANNAH and CHRIS are exceptional. Oh, I almost forgot about the rest of the review. The hotel is very clean and following all proper protocols. The room was cleaned and sealed and very nice, I might add. It is like a mini-suite with a sitting area and a proper desk for those who are working. I recommend rooms on higher floors away from the highway, overlooking the back patio/pool area if available. Thanks, Hannah and Chris, for making our experience so wonderful. …
This Doubletree wasn’t a true Doubletree in my opinion. It was more in line with a Holiday Inn. I’m sure this location was previously something else. Aside from rust on the bathroom door hinges, The room was comfortable. Toiletries were used, and one of the bottles wasn’t very clean. I stayed in a double with a pull out. I would say you could comfortably fit 5 people. The lobby is very nice and had a bar. I didn’t get a chance to experience any amenities like the pool or buffet.
Just gross. I cannot fathom how the hotel could even claim that the room had been cleaned. It was obvious the doors, light switches and other commonly touched areas had not been cleaned in quite some time. The bathroom vanity and door had marker drawings on them and was in bad need of being wiped down from top to bottom. Since the pandemic, I have yet to stay in a hotel that is even semi clean and this one missed the mark again.
The room was small, but clean. There were no bed clothes for the sofa bed. There are 2 TV’s in the room, but we only found one remote. I called the desk and the lady said that guests are allowed one remote. (This for $250 a night??) So, one of the TV’s was useless. It’s an average hotel and way overpriced.
