Don’t know how somebody can give this hotel two or three stars. Spotless clean, great breakfast selection (no hot oatmeal, but had hot grits), fridge and microwave in the room, great location, no issues at all! Internet worked very well. Would happily stay here again!

We have tried staying here many times but finally able to secure a reservation. So disappointed. First, it's pretty dated, not bad but needs an overhaul. The front desk checking in were super nice. Quick and easy check in. Had no cable. Was told there was an outage? Phone in the room didn't work as we tried to call housekeeping and the front desk multiple times and it just rang busy. Tried for hours. I actually called the main outside direct number and it rang busy as well. Had cable for a short while one morning but no cable the rest of the visit. Restaurant had cable so it must have been a room issue. The outlets on each side of the bed side table didn't work. Had to unplug the lamp to use an outlet. I did walk down to the check in to inquire about the cable and phones but the lady said she had no idea why it didn't work. Nothing else. Not "hey let me look into that for you" or anything. For what we paid for 2 nights it was really not worth it. Location was great for our needs but won't stay here again. Emailed the hotel directly and filled out the survey with the same comments above and heard nothing. Better options available in town.

Let me first apologize for your experience at the Hotel. It is not indicative of our service, nor that of any hotel in Baton Rouge The Cox network suffered a catastrophic outage, hitting homes and businesses ranging from Texas to Georgia taking out cable and telephones across the region. This a system-wide outage beyond any of our control. I personally spent several hours on my cell phone with Cox Baton Rouge and Cox Corporate Offices in Atlanta trying to get a service technician (and some answers which they still have provided next to nothing as a response). The technician did arrive Monday at 10 am, but also had no additional information as to the cause of the outage. I hope you would consider giving us another chance as it was not a typical experience for our hotel. We pride ourselves on helping our guests enjoy their stay.

A very nice, clean and quiet Fully exceeded our expectations. Best stay in Baton Rouge would definitely stay again. Well appointed and every thing we needed. Plus, beautiful view of University lake.], and just minutes to the interstate.

So happy we picked this hotel while in Baton Rouge for an LSU campus tour. It was only a 10 minute walk to the campus Geaux Center and we didn't have to deal with parking issues like many of the folks visiting the same day. Room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast had many options (the LSU waffles were a nice touch!), free parking, and very helpful and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at this hotel when dropping off our daughter for camp at LSU. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. But that’s all I can really say about it. When you can stay at the Waterfront for the same rate….I would not and could not recommend staying at The Cook instead of a place downtown.
