Our rooms were furnished with double and bunk beds to sleep at least 4 people. The common areas, kitchen, living room and bathroom, were clean and organized so that we could easily find what we needed. We met wonderful people and had memorable conversations. Next time I would ask for a room with a window that can be opened...

This was the perfect place to stay before and after our kayak trip to Gwaii Haanas. It is reasonably priced, has comfortable rooms and having kitchen facilities available was a bonus. For a small fee, we stored our surplus luggage here when we went on our kayak trip, and when we returned, they had those bags waiting for us in the room we booked. Bathroom was shared but everything was kept clean.

Highly recommend this spot!. My favourite things were the beachfront location, and how clean and well kept it is. Flavien also keeps beautiful gardens, and there are outdoor spaces to hang out with other travellers, read and relax. The communal kitchen is large and spacious and has anything you need. If you forget any breakfast items, they have reasonable priced individual things for sale. I wasn't expecting, for $75 a night, for nice towels to be provided, a blow dryer, and coffee ready to go in the kitchen!
You can just tell when someone really cares about a property, and Flavien clearly does, and it shows in many small touches throughout Bayview Gardens. He is also a wilderness photographer, and his original pieces decorate the rooms. It's a great place and you will feel very welcome and comfortable here.

Really enjoyed my stay at Bayview. It is well thought out with very comfortable beds and living space, and a clean, well supplied kitchen. The atmosphere was relaxed and the other guests were all friendly and respectful. I enjoyed staying at Bayview Garden. The space is comfortable and clean, the booking process is simple and no-fuss, and the owners impart a sense of serenity that is just really nice. The best part might be the equipped kitchen where travellers seem to congregate and share stories and food. If I ever make it back to Haida Gwaii, I would hope to stay here again.

Stayed here with four others the night before and after a week long kayak trip. Flavian was easy to reach and well connected with Moresby Explorers (our shuttle company) and totally up on connecting with the grocery to order food in advance of our trip. Knowledgeable! Fully equipped kitchen, great gathering spaces, big yard to spread our gear out, lots of hot shower water, spectacular beach across the street, and the hosts are kind and generous.

The Bayview Garden was a wonderful place to stay. Flavien was a great host, and the layout of the guesthouse was great, with a well laid-out kitchen and other common areas for being social, and really nice rooms to retreat to when not feeling so social.
Flavien has curated some excellent information about the Sandspit area in the various reference sheets, including information about all of the hiking around, stores and restaurants, and ways to get around.

Lovely guesthouse about a 20 minute flat walk from the airport (though the community has a paid airport shuttle that drops off at Bayview if you have lots of luggage so can’t walk). I am a solo female traveler and felt perfectly safe at the guest house. I liked that I could let myself in and make myself at home. Fully equipped kitchen and walking distance to the grocery store. Reading room with lots of books including those on Haida historic sites and art which were a real treat to peruse before my tour to Gwaii Haanas. Flavian was a wonderful host. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

A friend and I stayed at Bayview Garden for two nights following our Haida Gwai kayaking trip with Tofino Expeditions. It was perfect for our needs. We appreciated being able to cook meals (that coffee was available for breakfast!) Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the sunset views were amazing. We were able to leave our bags after checkout since we had an afternoon flight. A good value, would definitely recommend for a stopover in Sandspit!

A very pleasant stay with very friendly staff. The host even allowed us to invite our fellow group members who were staying elsewhere to have diner at Bayview Garden. You're also allowed to stay after check-out time. The location is very practical.

Most of our guests fly out of sandspit and depending on the flight time, which at the moment is in the early to mid afternoon, we usually allow our guests to leave their luggage in the main entrance of the Bayview Garden after check out time (11am0 and to use a part of the facilities that we clean last. It is a courtesy to our guests that we think makes sense as there are not a lot of places in our small town for guests to go to and hang out before their flight.
