We stayed at this hotel in August for a repeat en route visit. Our room was overlooking the valley and river, and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good as was the evening meal, with delicious local produce. Very friendly service, and easy outside parking.

A member of the Logis de France franchise, in a delightful setting on a hillside overlooking the Loue valley. We had a room at the end with a large wrap-around balcony, not huge but with adequate space. No air-con, so it was a tad warm, but we'd brought a small table fan with us, anticipating this, and that helped. Separate...

I booked in advance for a one night stay at this hotel - part of a 50th wedding anniversary tour through areas we visited in 1965. When I arrived the receptionist immediately said "Ah, 50 years!". This was symbolic of their attention to guests. I had asked for a window seat in the restaurant and sure enough we were guided...

My husband and I stayed here for one night during a roadtrip through France. There is no doubt that this place is a little tired, but I found it charming. Especially when you step out onto your balcony and admire the gorge. It was comparable to staying in an old cabin in the woods. It was clean. Breakfast was a...

My fiance and I walked through Moutier-Haute-Pierre as part of the Via Francegina. There was very little choice of places to stay as all of the gites were closed for winter. €73 is the price for a double room. The only real plus was the nice view of the gorge. The room was decorated in a variety of shades of...

Given the site, and the amazing view from every room, surely something could be done to update this hotel? Our room (and I suspect all the others) contained a brown carpet, brown bedcover, brown curtains, stained wood windows and doors - thoroughly outdated and tired. In the evening of our arrival, there was no hot water and when we asked...

We spent 3 days at la Cascade last week. The views from our room (especially at sunrise) as well as from the restaurant are magnificent; it's hard to look away. We drove and hiked in the lovely area under clear skies, with one little town more lovely than the last. But what really impressed me was the quality of the...
