Nothing fantastic about this motel, but still OK for the price we paid. However, on arrival we were given a room with no refrigerator or microwave, very strange in this day and age.We were transferred to another room with these amenities on request, so be...More
Hotel is an older facility in need of much TLC to carpet, plumbing and A/C updates. The staff, however, were excellent. Helped when possible. We were in Lafayette with the Junior Beta Club convention at the Cajun Dome.More

Very difficult to get off highway and onto frontage road to arrive at hotel. Parking slots are very tight. Room was dated, with minimal upkeep. Very noisy night with people knocking on everyone's doors. Decided to only stay one night.

Some of the reviews mention mold, roaches, and cigarette smells. I have asthma, and an allergy to roaches from working with them in a college work study job. I am worried your hotel will make me sick. Should I be worried, and cancel my reservation? Also, do you use pesticides in the rooms? That would also make me sick. Others mentioned not feeling safe there. Is there a security guard on duty watching the parking lot, and doors to the rooms? Thanks, Tami

If all of these are a concern for you, there is another La Quinta that is on Pinhook (it's the one listed on travel sites as the "Oil Center" location) only a few miles away that is 100% nonsmoking and has interior corridors which might make you feel safer. It is a tad more expensive but is VERY nice; it almost feels more like a little boutique hotel than a chain.
For whatever it's worth I am also sensitive to mold and did not notice an odor, and didn't notice any bugs, and I look for that sort of thing. For what the Lafayette North location charges, you could certainly do worse. but if you have room in your budget, the Oil Center La Quinta is very nice, as is the Hampton Inn and Suites that is also "in town" and a few miles away from the expressway.
