My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on our way to Florida. The hotel is very run down and is in need of a Major Reno!! The room was semi-clean but in very bad shape. The shower was all cracked and the toilet paper holder was broken and just thrown on the floor.....literally just on the floor with the toilet paper on it lol!! Anyway, the A/C worked great. We went to sleep only to be woke up by very, very loud music coming from a nearby room who was having a party about outside. Lots of noise, coming and going and very loud people shouting.....it was crazy!! Complained to front desk but nothing ever got done about it.......needless to say.....we will not be going back to this place and I do not recommend if you are trying to get some sleep!!

This was the WORST experience that I have ever had a hotel. After a day out and about in the city, my husband and I returned back to our room to rest. When we got ready to go to bed there was feces on the sheets. Yes, FECES!! I was mortified. I immediately contacted the front desk to assist me with this issue, and that was the worst mistake ever. The person at the front desk said that he could bring me some new sheets so that I could change the sheets myself. Are you serious!?!? I don't pay to sleep at a hotel to change my own sheets. The front desk person was very dismissive and not interested in fixing this problem at all. He even suggested that it was our feces in the bed, and I explained to him that we hadn't been in the room since this morning, and that when we returned the room that evening the room had been serviced... so we thought. I told him that I wanted to be moved to another room, and then my experience got even worst. We were moved to a room where other guests were outside drinking, smoking and being very loud. I called the front desk to complain again, and this time I was told that he couldn't control other guests behavior and that I had to deal with it. I was absolutely appalled, disappointed and disgusted with my stay at this hotel. I will never stay at this hotel chain again, and neither should you!!! Please find somewhere else to stay if you're in the area that's cleaner with better customer service. Again, this was the worst stay at a hotel that I have EVER had! P.S. Spent one night here on June on a return roadtrip from Florida. Its convenient to the highway but pretty beat up. For $150 I expect clean and safe. We arrived around 9 pm, there were lots of road warriors parked in the lot (fleet of Lowes Box trucks, other cross country types). There were several tenants who had set up grills and coolers and were partying outside their room. Others had their doors open and had dragged furniture out to drink beer and chatter. The check in was easy and the night manager warned me the free breakfast "was cereal". There was a treadmill partially put together next to the single breakfast room table. The room was simple kinda clean, the toilet rocked gently was you sat on it. The TV was okay with some channels, the AC worked. The door didn't close too well and barely locked. The smoke alarmed the battery removed. The "Non-Smoking room" I reserved seemed to be more of a suggestion than a rule. There was some musty and smokey smell. Surprisingly, the beds were very comfortable and sheets and pillows high quality; the only saving grace of this room. The beds were also on these strange steel structures that sounded like thunder and lighting if you kicked them when climbing on the bed. This would have been a good deal at $85, but for $150, I'd recommend going to the Holiday Inn Express across the street.…

First room---a/c wouldn't work--maybe because it was filthy---Second room----a tad bit cleaner but you wouldn't want to touch tops of electrical plugs-filthy! Bikers going in and out of property much of the night-----perhaps on a drug route????!!!! A/c worked but was louder than husbands Bi-Pap machine. Continental breakfast wasn't worth staying for---3 small tables and cheapest offerings---white bread-no fruit-plain bagels-cold cereal---wouldn't touch it---clerk was outside in her vehicle smoking---didn't come in once--only positive was good location, close to Hwy 10---wouldn't have stayed at all but was exhausted when we got there. TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE---you will be glad you did.

This is an average hotel, but it has excellent customer service, that goes beyond expectations to make you feel at home. The water in the shower was just luke warm, and there is only one washer and dryer. They did have a small breakfast, but it did include waffles, which was nice.

We stayed in the handicap room. Bathroom floor in the rolling shower we're absolutely filthy. We didn't even bother using the shower. One of the towels in the room it already been used. Water pressure is only okay. Bed with soft and it came with three pillows. The main room where the bed and chair are, was clean and we had plugs on each side of the bed for charging our phones.

The hotel is very basic. It had a bed and a bathroom. The hair dryer did not work, the room was musty, but you pay for what you get. So I did not expect much. They started working on the laundry room at 8am and I am sure they woke up other hotel patrons.

My spouse and I stayed in the jacuzzi suite on a Thursday night and the service is always good. I left my wallet after checking out, called later that night and it was still there with everything in it. Not only was it a blessing but Alvin at the front desk was very pleasant

I checked into the room and was immediately hit with a musty smell. There were cigarette burns on the comforters and in the bathroom. The cleaning crew are loud and coming way too early. Not a bad location just a bit away from anything. Lesson learned on lake Charles economy hotels.

Good Morning Mr. Chris W. Please allow me to say thank you first for choosing Econo Lodge Lake Charles as well as taking your time to complete this review. I want you to know that we take our time to read through the reviews, analyze the issues in the review, and take the necessary actions for improvement. I am going to attempt to address each of your concerns in the order that I have read them. Please allow me to apologize for what was considered a musty smell upon entering the room. I am in no way saying that my thoughts on this issue are correct however I will give our logical explanation. Recently all of our guest rooms were completely renovated. It is our belief due to prior experiences with this issue that we have discovered the reason for the smell. You are in a room with new carpet, new paint, and new as well as new furniture. With the helpful knowledge of other guest regarding this issue it has been determined that the smell is new furniture and carpet as you are smelling the raw smells of the new items in the rooms. Because of the weather changes, we have instructed our staff to leave A/C Units off. With no air circulating in the room, it allows the natural smell of the carpet and furniture to be more prevalent the air been on. You also mentioned the burns in various items and we agree that it is very possible, I do hope while you encountered these issues , you reported them promptly to be dealt with by our Management staff. Our cleaning crew is an Indian couple who Cleans the entire property. They are so quiet that it is very difficult to determine if they are on the floor working or not. I respectfully do not think you heard our cleaning crew. However, in your future stays please keep in mind that if you encounter something you think is not normal, or have you feeling uncomfortable, please alert the front desk as soon as you can so that the property can deal with it. We are located primarily in the center of the city. There are restaurants within 1 mile of the hotel as well as many other things in our surrounding area. I really feel bad that you had this type of experience while staying here in Lake Charles however we want you to know that we hear you and we are moving into action. Both of your concerns or issues have been documented and discussed with our staff. We off the opportunity to return and allow us to make it right with you.
