The outside of the hotel was nice and the lady that greeted us at the front desk was friendly and helpful. That is all that was good about the hotel. The room was just surfaced cleaned, we got no sleep because you could hear everything. Doors closing, people walking, walls were thin so it was loud. There are no coffee makers in the room which is fine, but when we went downstairs the coffee was low and no half and half only fake stuff: There was also no food left even though it was still open for 30 minutes. The biggest thing this hotel has going for it is the friendly staff!
But is not bad value, very clean, room was perfect. Yes there are some windows out, boarded up, but rooms are fine and you do stay there for communal areas. For a good night out lake Charles has options
My husband and myself had a most unpleasant stay. The room next to ours had a TV that was blaring loud until we finally called the front desk at 1:30 a.m. The walls are so thin you could hear everything that went on down the hallway as well. This is a Hilton brand hotel, so I expected better.
Very clean and quit. Will stay again. We liked the rooms and everything was very nice. It was close to where we wanted to go. breakfast was good. the employees were very friendly. I will recommend this place to other people.
Double charged with no money return talked to customer service, was told to take it to your bank…. Will not book with Hilton again, Very in professional with dealing with the matter, was left to deal with it on my own
Tru by Hilton was a wonderful experience which seemed you were at a Friend's house not a hotel. The complimentary breakfast was so wonderful. Was pleasantly surprised to find out about Shuttle Service to the Casinos which was a plus.
Warm staff.room wasn't detailed at all.all the detailing was on the first floor.well actuslly everything else was kinda detailed .i guess.anyway it isnt good for a hilton definitely.it needs to be remodeled. I like hotels mainly because of the way the light and this one it felt like you were sleeping in the booth of a restaurant with the ligjting.
Ms. Whitney and Ms. Karen, front desk employees, went above and beyond for me. I had booked a room on the wrong night and they worked to get me a new room. A friend cancelled, we shuffled people around, and still the ladies patiently helped us to get the best price. Best customer service possible. Room was clean and comfy. Lobby is beautiful with a nice mural and bright, ecletic furniture. 10 out of 10, will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Karen and Whitney!!
My husband and I stayed and I probably wouldn't stay there again. Positives: The staff were all very nice. The location is convenient if you plan to go to the casinos. Not-so-positives: The two nights we stayed, we had to kill multiple baby crickets, ants and other bugs during our stay. The crickets were literally everywhere including the shower, near the bed, under the sink. There seemed to be a general uncleanliness in the common areas. The air conditioning was possessed. I would attempt to turn the temp down and it would constantly go up instead of down. The air conditioner was also very loud. Finally, they had DirectTV but the guide never worked and the signal was always going out. Although I was not expecting luxury, I do think cleanliness and a working television are the bare minimum for any hotel. Maybe we caught them at a bad time?…
The only star goes to the friendly and welcoming desk attendant. Room was fairly clean, but stained shower floor, dusty corners (vacuum can go there, right?), rusted light on bedside table, ac sounded like a storm coming in to the coast. All those negatives were okay, but hearing the neighbors slam the door up until 11 pm only to be awoken by the conversation they apparently had to have at 3 a.m. was less than restful. I should have just kept on driving. Sad that Hilton’s name means so little these days
