The staff was awesome!! Helpful and pleasant!! Can’t say enough about that. The issue is the hotel is full of mold. My mother is asthmatic and highly allergic. Immediately upon check in and getting to room she began to have symptoms. With in about 15 minutes she was having very very bad reactions. And even I starting to have itchy eyes and I could feel it in my throat . They tried to move us to 2 other rooms. It just wasn’t better. We did get our money back and changed hotels. Luckily there was availability close at the last minute. That doesn’t happen often and people can get stranded. That is why I think honest reviews are extremely important Again the staff was really helpful and nice!!

Hotel was clean and in a nice location to get many places. Staff was friendly and very helpful. But... the bar wasn't open on a Sat night and the breakfast is a restaurant that costs extra. Go to KD's if you want a good meal. Not cheap but not criminal price either, just too much for a bed IMO

There are SO many other hotels willing to help when a mistake is made! Do not choose this one- they will NOT help you! I found 2 others that would in the Lake Charles area! Go with the hotel that provides customer service and is willing to HELP its customers!**

The hotel is old, outdated, and rooms feel dirty. The carpet was sticky and the room smelled musty. Front desk not very friendly. Put us in a so called "executive king room" which had a large area of open space with uneven flooring that served absolutely no purpose. I think it was a double queen room that was poorly transformed into a king room. Bathroom was very small and furniture and countertops were stained. Sounded like a herd of heavy footed cattle running around above our room. Bed was fairly comfortable and air conditioned worked that's about all I can say. We usually enjoy our stays at Holiday Inn, but this one is a no go in our book.

Stay here fairly often. Large lobby with bar and restaurant just past the check-in. Rooms are nice, beds adequate. If you are looking for a place with a view this isn't it. If you are looking for a place to stay that is just one road off one of the main streets and usually quieter than other places with a quick ride to the casino area's this will work.

Nice stay at this Holiday Inn South. Clean, pleasant atmosphere, well lit, ample parking. Room was clean and prepped for visitors. However, outside window, facing north on third floor, was green with mold or mildew. Quiet room with no outside noise. Restaurant and pool were exceptionally clean. Check in & out easy and simple. Pleasant staff. Recommended.

Checked in for a two night stay here. When I came back in the evening after the first day all my belongings were taken out of the room and stored at the reception. The explanation of the receptionist was that they thought I was not coming back. Of course, booking for two nights and leaving my suitcase, my jacket, my shoes and toiletries in the room and then not coming back. Logical. The suitcase was easily retrieved, but the rest of my stuff took an hour to locate. Then got new keys for the same room and when I came to the room it turned out there was already another guest staying there. So back to the reception and got keys for another room. When checking my belongings I found my almost full bottles of shampoo and bodywash were missing. They couldn't be located anymore. Then I had to ask myself for some compensation, as the receptionist didn't think of that herself and then said she maybe could ask the manager but he was not in, so good luck with it. 15 dollars down the drawn and no compensation whatsoever. Apparently they are big enough to be so arrogant, but they have lost a customer for life. Bye.…

It's a new place surrounded by other "boutique" hotels... Looks very clean and comfortable... have a nice fitness center, a cozy pool, a really beautiful lobby with a business center available, the front desk attendant really nice and pleasant. I hadn't chance to taste the breakfast but seems like a regular one...
