The stay was a great value and comfort, but would have liked to have the breakfast ! Staff very courteous. Bed and linens were very comfortable. Really liked the outdoor security lighting and parking, but be careful if you can’t do stairs, as there is no elevator.

I booked this just cause we were staying for 2 nights and needed something cheap. I read no where about renovations taking place. I was hoping to take a dip in the pool but it is filled in with mud and a construction staging area at the moment. Bummer, but I was pleasantly surprised that we got an renovated room that was very nice. It a[[ears we were the first to use it. You could still smell the fresh paint and fixtures. Some items still had the tags and stickers on them. Is it the Hilton?, ..No. But I think you get a good value for the renovated rooms. This place will be really nice when it is done. Not sure what others say about the area feeling unsafe. I never felt unsafe. The front desk and the housekeepers were nice to us. I think there was maybe 3 other rooms occupied while we were there. It was nice and chill. The construction on the lower floor was not an issue. I might have given 5 stars for the value had the doors not slammed so hard. We were awakened every morning by people leaving from the doors slamming. And I am also a big shower snob. They could have picked a better new shower head. The pressure was low. I was disappointed by that. The sink in the bathroom had a ton of pressure. I wish they could have transferred some of that to the shower. This place has quick access onto the highway and is about 8 minutes from the casinos. I would consider staying here when it is completely renovated in the future.…

Had an employer-mandated stay at this hotel for a couple of weeks. Really not a good place. Rooms were dirty --- like "no one had even TRIED to clean the strange smears off the shower stall" dirty. Maid service in the rooms was completely random... some days nothing/some days just the trash/ some days new towels / one day they just took the old towels but didn't leave new ones. The neighborhood is sketchy (they lock the front lobby door at 11pm - but say you can use the unattended BACK door at night?!!?) The staff is friendly but often not very competent. Rooms near the highway are impossibly noisy. There's construction going on (although the "renovated" rooms aren't noticeably better than the old ones). If you look at the photos above once you are in the hotel it will make you laugh and cry. They must be photos from the mid-1980s. The glistening hotel swimming pool in the photo is literally a mud-filled pit with plants growing in it.. Also damp carpets from the ancient air conditioning and, of course, cockroaches.…

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. If we weren’t exhausted and in an unfamiliar place on a road trip, we would’ve left and found someplace else. The lighting feels like a horror movie. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and they didn’t clean the place. Someone else’s dirty underwear was hanging up in the shower! The floors were filthy. The sheets were stained and had a burn hole. The mirror and TV looked like it had been wiped with a dirty rag. It smelled so bad of cleaning chemicals, we had a hard time sleeping. It was a truly hellish experience.

I made the reservation through Booking.com for my husband. He was driving at night from FL to TX. About a half-hour, after I booked the room, he got there and told me it didn't look safe. I called the hotel right away and asked if the room could be canceled. The woman who answered said I would need to contact Booking.com which I did immediately. My husband also called the hotel and was told by that woman that the reservation had been canceled. We thought that was the end of it. I received a few emails from Booking.com stating they had tried to contact the property several times but got no response. They recommended that I also reach out to the property again to make sure we weren't being charged for the room. I called and spoke to the manager who very quickly told me that my husband checked into the room at 0317 Friday, 6/18 and that the room had been used. I explained to him that my husband had driven by the hotel around 2230 CT on 6/17 and told me he wasn't comfortable staying there. The manager then said my husband had signed something when he checked in. I asked him to email that to me. What I received was an unsigned folio showing the charge but no proof that my husband checked into the room. My husband also called the hotel and the manager told him he needed to review the situation and he would get back to him in a couple of hours. When the manager called my husband back, he said the charge for the room was being refunded but no explanation as to what had happened and why they said they had my husband's signature on something. This situation was frustrating and worrisome because it sounded like something shady was being done at the hotel. To me, it seemed like we paid for the room but somebody was allowed to stay in it...and probably paid for the room as well. All in all, we got our money back but I would never recommend staying at this property due to the possibly sketchy business practices.…

Even though they appear to be remodeling. They need to completely eradicate the lingering smell of cigarettes. You can't simply paint over walls to hide the smell. Smells bad and made my allergies go nuts, could not sleep. They need a complete overhaul: clean the HVAC system, replace all the ceiling tiles, replace carpet and drywall, etc.

Very satisfied with our stay will be back my daughter lives in Lake Charles and we will be planning more trips and we will be staying at this location. The location was central to all our needs. lighting was good in parking lot and the room was very clean.

The trip I had taken to the Super 8 Lake Charles/Sulphur was not a good experience for me as in front door, which led to the room smell of f urine. The carpet were dirty and the light were dimmed in the room.
