L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles garners praise for its attentive service and pleasant atmosphere, though some guests mention the service can be hindered by slow response times and towel shortages. While the pool area and complimentary toiletries are highlights, visitors have raised concerns about room cleanliness, noting issues such as mold and noise, alongside inconsistent amenities like minibars. Travelers also question the value for money, pointing out the steep prices for dining and services, despite the awesome vibe of the resort.

Had a great time at L’Auberge even though the area is working to recover - this Casino has the right formula of Friendly staff at its table games (BlackJack and Craps for me) to make it a memorable visit. Supervisors also very social and engaging to make sure we were doing well and if needed any beverages. Also the focus on good hygiene, wearing masks, cleanliness of table/floors was evident at all times making for a safe environment.

The casino has very tight slots, high roller bar area just ok, not very big.Spacious slot casino area, very tight! Good drink service, adequate ventilation, no non-smoking area that I could find. They have stopped the tram to the Golden Nugget.
Received welcome text prior to hotel check in, is helpful to ask text service for robes, notepad & pen, extra towels so you don’t have to wait for housekeeping to supply later. Comp room was adequate, tired brown furnishings. No daily maid service, have to flag down housekeeping for towel change. Tiny coffee maker with decent coffee, bring more creamer if you need it! Two Tiny bottled waters provided on day 1. (Hint-bring some from the spa if you visit there)
Lauberge text good at answering hotel-related questions. Has little to no info on restaurants, or spa.
Spa facility average, placed near hotel exit to family pool area, Comp glass of yummy champagne (ask if not offered), locker/changing area has hair dryer only, no grooming products as in other hotel spas, did have an empty Kleenex dispenser tho! “Relaxation area” is merely a dark TV watching area w/water & coffee; small saunas & jacuzzi. I found it really tough to spend time in the spa because it’s not a beautiful relaxing area as at other hotel spas.

I go to the L'Auberge very often and think it is a great second choice to Vegas, which I try to go to atleast several times a year. the rooms at L'Auberge are small and the tubs are ment for smaller than me, but I put up with it because I enjoy the hotel . the bed and pillows are very comfortable. there is two bottles of water and coffee choices in the room for free use.I did not go to the pool area this trip, but in warmer months always have a cold one there. Very relaxing by the Lazy River. All in all, I do enjoy the L'Auberge and the two hour drive there is not bad from Houston. I play Video Poker and slots. Did hit a $2000 Slot so all was not lost.

I'll start with the good... the pool manger Brody was excellent. We had an incident at the pool and he took care of us right away. Also hotel security was quick to take care of a disturbance on our floor one night when there was a fight.

In regards to the rooms, there was always a horrible smell in the elevators and hallways; I caught myself wondering how picky I had become but the level of dust on tables and chairs was ridiculous. I realize most hotels have gone to not cleaning rooms while tenants are there but I was there for 6 days and asked for refreshed towels and additional shampoo 3 times and only received 2 towels on my bed one afternoon (for the 4 people in my room).

Additionally be aware there is no fridge and microwave; you can rent one for the additional fee but honestly when you are paying that much for a room including a resort fee that's absurd to me.

Finally, leave nothing in your vehicle. The parking lot was rather scary on weekends. Loads of people walking around and yelling, passed out on / in cars. At one point we saw people looking in cars with a flashlight.

Upon walking into L'auberge for an overnight stay, my boyfriend and I noticed that the casino and common areas were very crowded and masks/social distancing was not being practiced, even by hotel staff. We walked to the front desk and noticed some people checking in without masks and some of the front desk folks with some masks below their noses. We told Brando at the front desk that we were supposed to stay for 1 night but felt uncomfortable with the lack of COVID practices, and would like to just cancel our reservation. He said that he would cancel it and indicated that our booking agent would refund any charges since we prepaid. I further confirmed that if my booking agent called the hotel to confirm, that I would not be charged for this night. He said yes, and to have them call to talk to "Brando" and pointed to his name tag. My booking company tried calling several times, and when they did reach the hotel, they said the front desk notes input by the hotel indicated a FEE of 1 night be charged. Horrible treatment of a customer especially when it was because of their UNSAFE practices why we decided not to stay. VERY disappointed in the management of this hotel.

Pics below are of our mattress cover. I found this when I thought the untucked flat sheet was the cover sheet at 10:30pm. I contacted a manager when I saw this and requested that someone from management come up to our room to see in person. She refused. We waited 45 minutes for housekeeping and had to call again for new bedding. We finally got to bed at midnight. In hindsight the manager that I spoke to should have offered a new room immediately.

I went to the front desk Wednesday morning and asked to speak to a housekeeping manager and was told it wasn’t allowed. I then asked to speak to the hotel manager. Again I was refused.

I telephoned the hotel when we got home and requested the name and email address of the housekeeping manager or hotel manager and was again refused.

I realize that there are issues with Covid, hurricanes and the freeze in February but there is no excuse for our bed not being sanitized and made properly before our arrival.

There are also limited dining options if you go on a Tuesday/Wednesday since the cafe is only opened for breakfast and lunch. Jack Daniels grill is gone and the buffet has been turned into an Oyster Bar that is closed on Tuesdays and opens at 5 on Wednesday.

Thankfully Embers was open for dinner and the food and service there was impeccable.

Stayed at this hotel and haven’t been here on a couple of years because of covid. The telephone was not working, the a/c was not working. When I finally decide to go to bed at midnight I can’t find the remote to turn off the screen saver! We didn’t watch tv what’s so ever. The head board was covered in a cloth over the vinyl head board. For a room that cost me $239 a night plus all taxes and fees I would expect Pinnacle to modernize or look into their once luxurious resort and casino. The room number 1105. Id rate this room a 4 out of 10

The hotel overall is nice with beautiful pool area and boardwalk to Golden Nugget next door. The casino was not huge, but easy to navigate....freezing cold however. The room was a bit of a disappointment for the high price. Nice bed and comfortable but expect more for the high price with no refrigerator for instance and you can easily hear hallway noise. Unfortunately, my room was right next to the maids/laundry room on the 12th floor so kinda loud. Food was great, but long lines all the time at the 24 hour pantry and waits at all restaurants. They also charge a "resort fee" which is odd and I could never connect to wifi which is included in the fee.

My wife and I had tickets to see a show at the Golden Nugget, but rooms that night at L'Auberge were cheaper and since it is next door we chose to stay there. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Unfortunately it was right next door to a mechanical room, so we got to hear rumbling from the machinery through the walls constantly. It wasn't very loud, but it was very annoying. When traveling I usually bring my own pillow to use in hotels but this time I forgot. Big mistake. The pillows were terrible and I woke up with a huge pain in my neck. I also had a pain in my lower back so the bed overall wasn't the most comfortable either. We did finish our getaway with a very good breakfast at Favorite's, so that was good.

Upon entering our room we checked to see if it was clean. We found coffee drips on tables and poop smeared on toilet seat and paper in the bowl.
While waiting for housekeeping I wiped the remote, light switches and sink vanity and it was filthy. The picture of dirty wipe is from the vanity only.
I looked in the hall and housekeeping was there, told them of the dirt and they came in immediately. We left.

Returning to the room, some coffee drips were wiped up and toilet was clean but I noticed brown splatters on the wall by toilet. So I cleaned the entire bathroom, not something I like to do on vacation.

I had notice a couple of tiny bugs on the wall in the bathroom, squished them and didn't think much of it. When we returned from gambling that day we found a mound of small ants on some creamer that had spilled that morning. It was late so I just wiped them all up.

I thought the room had a faint smell of stale cigarettes. I kept smelling a musty smell in the bathroom. The next morning I pulled out the rubber bath mat and that is where the smell was coming from so I cleaned that.

We had to call for luggage rack, there was only one trash can.
Some dirt spots on carpet.

The furniture was in decent shape, no fridge but did have a safe and coffee maker.

Beds were comfortable.

We stayed two nights and I was really glad to get out of that room.

I don't want to stay here again, on a previous stay, before covid, we had to change rooms because it was dirty, so this is nothing new.

Our room was comped, I'm wondering if I have to pay to get a clean room.
