We arrived in Lake Charles, LA after 11 PM Sunday. We were hoping to get in a little gambling and a good nights rest before our journey to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. We were met with a friendly smile and great customer service by Felicia. We got checked in and proceeded to our hotel room. Unfortunately, our room had not been cleaned. Felicia jumped in to help us get settled into another room; it was stripped and not cleaned. We repeated that three more times and my friend and I started to think someone was playing a joke on us. Regardless, Felicia maintained her professionalism and relentlessly began calling in her resources. After speaking with her area manager, we were put into a larger room for the same price and points. Her ability to maintain her composure and not let it get the best of her was AMAZING. She made us feel right at home and we still went out and gambled a little. THANK YOU FELICIA!

Property is well maintained and the staff is great. Really felt like they were happy to see our entire crew. Not a single complaint from anyone on our team. If not for the virus situation it would have been even better.

Trustworthy! I forgot my jewelry in bathroom. Called a few hours later on when I realized I left it behind. Receptionist let us know it was turned in to front office and would be waiting in office until we were able to go collect it next morning. Rooms were also very clean

Parking lot is small, very poorly laid out and dark/scary at night. Building is not old, but has been so poorly maintained it looks very old. Room looked "ok" at first but looking closer the cleaning was just a quick pass, I don't even know if the sheets were changed -- they smelled like someone's perfume. Place disgusted me. I wish I'd taken the negative reviews seriously.

I stayed here this past weekend 4/13-4/16 to visit some family. I got 2 rooms. One for myself and one for my parents. I don't think we've ever been more comfortable! they seemed busy but we were able to get some great sleep every night, the rooms had kitchenettes so it was nice to fix up a snack. Their pantry was cool! loved the selection and how well stocked it was. housekeeping was flawless. every evening we came back to the hotel our rooms were clean. Really enjoyed stayed here. like a mini apartment for us for a long weekend. Thanks a bunch!

This hotel was a disaster, just as the two next door to it (owned by the same person). VERY short on supplies. Not enough light bulbs. Pee was on my toilet seat. They continued to use the excuse "It's because we're new"... that should NOT be an excuse! The staff (except for one guy) was rude, snotty and unhelpful. When asked for a plunger, the front girl actually tried to HAND one over to the guest and have the guest unclog her OWN toilet! Thankfully someone saw and stopped her. No matter how "new" a hotel is, you should have a buyer who doesn't skip corners and is a tightwad and staff who is trained in customer service! Needless to say, we will NOT come here again.

I was capturing the very first photo to be posted on trip advisor when a construction worker was nice enough to offer me a tour. This is an excellent hotel and I'm sure that it will suit everyone's needs. There is a large laundry room, fitness center and a covered patio with a nice grill. The rooms are fully equipped suites with beautiful cabinetry. The doors on the cabinets are a frosted glass.

Lake Charles is a city that we frequently visit for concerts and on our last visit we stayed at Candlewood Suites. We had reservations so check-in was quick and efficient. The room was large with a small kitchen, which is okay, but not something we normally look for in a hotel room and will certainly avoid in the future. The bathroom had some issues it was not as clean as we are accustomed, the faucet was loose and the hot water had to run for several minutes before it became hot. The shampoo and body wash were in fixed containers inside the bathtub/shower and there was no hand soap. Every time you wanted to wash your hands you had to reach inside the shower to get some body wash. The bed was too soft for me and something that was more evident when we returned to the room from the concert was the high volume of road noise from the Interstate. Another inconvenience was that they do not offer breakfast as most hotels now do. This proved to be a bigger inconvenience than expected. When we left the hotel to get breakfast every place that served breakfast was packed and had waiting lines that extended outside. Parking was limited and we did not feel secure especially late in the evening when we returned from the concert. Check out was not a good experience. I wanted a receipt for our stay and the only person at the front desk was a service staff member that did not know how to operate the computer. When I asked where the front desk person was they told us they were not available and would not be back for at least 20 minutes. I asked that receipt be emailed to me, but I never received the receipt.

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with the front desk staff at this hotel. Hotel canceled reservations for part of our group with no notification whatsoever. Thankfully, one of the guests called to confirm two days before and was told about the cancellations. Went through the process of getting the reservations back and was given confirmations on the rooms. Arrival date, everyone starts arriving and the front desk lady was full of attitude and seemed to be on a power trip. She wouldn’t let any of the group check in until after 3pm. Then when she finally started checking some of the people in, they had changed all of the room types to single beds, etc... The front desk lady, once again, was being extremely rude and unapologetic about the whole event. Fast forward to this moment, I’m in my room, just had a roach run out of the coffee packets and my brother is still stuck in the lobby with no room, even though he has confirmations. I travel extensively and use IHG chains, but have never experienced anything quite like this. Reserve rooms and stay here at your own risk.

Stayed here first weekend in November. Had tickets to a concert at the Golden Nugget. Great location to the casino. Room was NOT clean. Had weird smell when we opened the door. The tub looked like it hadn't been clean in weeks. It also had a very slow drain; probably need to be flushed out with Draino, and the mirror has a dry drake speck of something on it! The room was nice and large with a kitchenette area. The counter top had crumbs on it, and the couch looked disgusting. On a positive note, the front desk staff was great! Giving a 2 raise only because of the staff!
