Great visit to this quaint and friendly hacienda. Andre our host was fun and friendly, very helpful. Room a bit hot and cramped on the dining area and while we didn't mind too much 2 nights was enough to spend in it. Loved the pool and wildlife and the communal eating. Food was excellent and very fresh. Thanks to the...

We stayed 2 nights in the main building, not in one of the container rooms. The place is very basic. It's good, if you don't mind roughing it a bit. There is very little accommodation within easy distance of the national park, so it's not a bad choice for a couple of nights. I'm OK with the usual creepy crawlies...

We only stayed 1 night at Aroma de Campo and arrived late so main comments are about the room. Staff and grounds are ok, breakfast was excellent. The decoration and design of our room was horrible – the toilet/shower is not separate in the room – there is only a part wall divider (which doesn’t reach the ceiling so it’s...

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit and stay. We happen to be visiting during a local race so we had our diners with some of the residents of Costa Rica which we really enjoyed. We stayed in the converted containers which were really nice. I was very worried that it would not cool off enough at night but...

We spent one night at Aroma de Campo when we visited the area to hike at Rincon de la Vieja. We stayed in one of the rooms attached to the main house and found it to be clean and functional, though fairly spartan. There was no air conditioning in the room, but a ceiling fan helped some to make it...

This is a delightful inn/boutique hotel. A little funky but arty as well. The rooms are spare but comfortable. Each room in the main hacienda opens to a covered portal where there are rocking or large deck chairs. The area in front of the kitchen has a long table where the guests eat. The food was really good. Dinner consisted...

This hostel at quite place is really nice. You can sleep very well there without any noise desturbing. The pool offers some refreshening. Recommendable is the rich dinner served there at a good price. And also to mention are Eric's good advices about things to do in the region.

Well there is the big table for breakfast and dinner, and this is quite an attraction. Then there is the big fridge, where you help yourself to a beer or soda and mark it on a list. There is the ever helpful manager Erick, who - with his Costa Rican Style sells you the wine for dinner as well as...

This hotel was great start to finish! Erik, the manager (I think) greeted us right when we arrived and was so friendly and helpful the entire time. The communal dining table was so nice as we got to meet and chat with fellow travels, and even got a ride/new friends because of it. The food was delicious and seemed very...

This was the most unique experience out of five hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica. Super friendly. Family-style eating. Rooms decent. No hot water but the experience makes-up for it. It's not a five-star experience. Just expect a relaxed, hillside place to chill-out. Staff was great. Food was home-cooked and delicious. Very authentic. There was a big spider in...
