Found this hotel to have clean rooms, friendly staff and reasonable rates. Rates lower than other hotels in the area. Rooms were clean and spacious for two adults with daily room service. Room (202) was at end of hall and very quiet. Staff was friendly and was very happy with ease of making reservation with desk attendant Sherry. Bed was very comfortable but pillows were a little too soft for my liking although they may be fine for others. This was not a showstopper for me, just used two pillows. No hot breakfast but packaged breakfast sandwiches and pastries including waffles were tasty and filling. Cracker Barrel across the street if you prefer hot breakfast. Good location off I-10. Would stay here again if in the area.
AWFU!!!! If there was a zero would have given it. Have just checked in after several flights and my key was not working. I asked the rude lady at the reception either to fix the key or to give me another room and she replied (at midnight) that she cannot do that because is not her job to open doors and as there was no other available room she told me that i can spend the night at the lobby!!!! FOR A PAID ROOM!!!! Please stay AWAY from this hotel!!!!!!
The rooms were clean and the staff was accommodating. The hotel was primarily filled with patrons who had evacuated from their homes due to Hurricane Ida. The room was adequate, but the water pressure was absolutely terrible. I stayed at this hotel for business with my business partner and my dog. I travel with my dog whether I travel for work or pleasure. Due to the Hurricane, all hotels accept pets during evacuations, so I am not sure of the normal pet policy for this hotel. I do feel that the pet charge was excessive, $40 per pet, per day. The staff indicated that they had to clean the carpets more often than usual due to so many people evacuating with their pets. That was comforting to hear. The grounds around the hotel on the other hand were not kept up at all. It was clear that there was very little grounds keeping even before the storm, as there was a lot of trash and dog dirt.…
The prIces of all the hotels in the area have really increased from a few years ago. Not sure if because of increased demand with workers at new LNG plant, but all the hotels including this one are overpriced. There are chips in the drywall and in places big chunks are missing. The walls in some places are dirty like something splattered and wasn't cleaned. The person who checked us in said she didn't wear a mask because "it probably doesn't do any good anyway". This comment and the walls not being cleaned makes a guest wonder if the hotel is following cleaning guidelines for COVID. Would not stay here again.
Have stayed in several hotels in Lake Charles and Sulphur area since the storms and this one has by far the best staff, cleanest hotel and the best attempt at restoring some semblance of a normal breakfast. Front desk staff, both night and mornin were excellent as well as housekeeping. My only request is to get the juice machine working for those of us who don't drink coffee. Karrisa and Osha went above and beyond in service and attitude to make an old relief worker feel good. Thanks, I hope they get a big bonus!. If I come back I want forget the quality of service, people and effort at Comfort Suites in Sulphur.
My son and I drove across country for a necessary trip. A couple hotels were atrocious. I carried disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer and used at each hotel. Still didn’t feel clean enough. One weary evening, ready to be done with filthy hotels and hours of driving, we stopped at this hotel. First step in the door I was greeted by Ms Aaliah Grant. She was mopping and had the biggest smile as she welcomed me inside. Wow! The impeccably clean lobby had my attention and I booked the room with high hopes. My son and I entered the room and at the same time said we didn’t need to clean a thing. I returned to the lobby to chat with Ms. Grant. She is just delightful. Her guest service is ON POINT. Kudos as well to the general manager, Mr. Kevin Patel, who’s leadership shines throughout the building. I appreciate both of you. We had a great night’s sleep. I hope to visit again. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with both of you. A sincere thank you. You did not disappoint. …
Between the dark outdated room. Smell of marijuana in the elevator (non smoking hotel), room in need of a deep clean, back pool entrance left open, construction workers, and an adjoining road to a truck gas station overnight parking area it’s hard to recommend this choice hotel. Almost forgot front desk was average at best.
We had a reservation at another brand on I-10 East. However we could not get to it because of Tropical Storm Imelda flooded parts of I-10. We sat in a 4 hour backup of traffic on Highway 90 trying desperately to go East. We finally got throught the traffic backup and flooded road and we managed to book a room at CS after 9 pm. We got to the hotel and checked in at 10 pm. Was to exhausted and tired. Took showers and went to bed. We had a king suite room on the first floor and the room was big. Bed was high and small pillows but comfortable. Fell asleep immediately and woke up around 6:30 am. Lighting in room was dark. Need brighter bulbs. Breakfast is from 5 am to 9:30 am. Had to wait on breakfast due to a lot of construction workers checked in after we did. Breakfast was very good with standard items and had good biscuits and gravy.…
Didn't like that husband asked for 3rd floor when we checked in; unfriendly clerk said "oh, they've already assigned you a 2nd-floor room." We sucked it up and went to 208 given us. That night, 9 or so, someone moved in above us. We heard loud sounds next hour and longer, preventing relaxation/sleep. Like someone dropping bowling balls: constant bumps, thumps, bangs, thuds. Waited awhile to see if noise might subside. It didn't. Called front desk but she was overwhelmed with late check-ins and couldn't do anything, not even call us back. Called a few more times, she finally asked did we want to move and we thought, well, if she's unable or unwilling to quieten the people, guess we have to move. INCONVENIENCE. Guess she did the best she could, being alone with onslaught of guests. Also, didn't like rock hard beds. Only reason we stayed here is hotel is nonsmoking but we won't stay or visit area again, seems only made for trashy, inconsiderate people. Located by downscale truckstop/casino right by hotel. Also didn't like 32-inch TV (couldn't access lower 20 channels, it just said call cable company), we're used to at least 42 inch. My tripadvisor review will recommend avoiding whole Sulphur/Lake Charles area. There's just no good place to stay. Hire another night clerk to help juggle late guests and quieten the trogs. Upgrade beds!…
It was just a weekend drive to New Orleans for a few hours, then decided to stay in Sulphur, LA to hit the casinos in Lake Charles. I selected Comfort Suites because of the high ratings and affordable price. It was a good choice! The hotel is super clean inside and smells nice and inviting. I'd surely recommend it. Oh, really quiet from outside street noise. Not easy to find...
