Hotel is relatively nice, but in some 80 hotel stays since COVID began, I have found Fairfield to be the worst at being cheap by using COVID as an excuse for no breakfast at all. In my experience the mid priced chains that have done the best job providing reasonable breakfast throughout this so called pandemic have been HIEX, Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn in that order. Several are even having their staff serve you a hot breakfast. Needless to say anyone in marketing will tell you, how you treat your customers in hard times will pay off in the long run!

The Good: Room was clean, staff was friendly, parking was easy.
The Bad: First day I had to leave around 7:50 AM and there was no breakfast out at all, just coffee. The second day leaving at the same time there was only bread and instant oatmeal containers. This is not a breakfast. They have bottles attached in the shower filled with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - my conditioner was just filled with water. They did not clean my room at all (this isn't COVID excuse period anymore). The room was very sterile, no pictures or anything, it was just an un-carpeted room with furniture. Thought a Marriot place would be slightly nicer than Holiday Inn, but it was worse.

The hotel has obviously been updated but it is just lipstick on a pig. The overall feel beyond the lobby is small, outdated motel. I don't know if all rooms have this, but ours had a portable dehumidifier that was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep. The doors to the rooms are narrow. The elevator door was so small I thought it was a janitor's closet. Our stay was overnight on a roadtrip during the pandemic. I'm assuming the strong bleach smell in the lobby was due to extreme efforts to combat coronavirus.

Stop the lies, charging full rate removing chairs, breakfast and finally removing coffee makers from all rooms in the guise of covid. The staff are so helpful, unfortunately, this is a greedy owner. Rates are 165/ night Coffee makers are removed from the rooms. No breakfast and furniture removed beds only in my room. I was in Little Rock two nights ago 98 a night all services available. breakfast coffee makers etc. available. In Dallas three days ago the same 112 a night. In California, the most shutdown state....134 nights and all service available, breakfast was in bags....coffee makers were not removed. Marriot has basic standards coffee makers have been a standard since the late '80s. I was in Marriott Corp in the eighties, this hotel is violating their franchise agreement. The hurricanes have been gone for a few weeks, in case, the hotels use that as aanexcuse. MY team and I are leaving.

My wife and I were staying at this property on points. The young woman who checked us in was pleasant and efficient and assigned us to a room on the third floor. She said that the property had been recently renovated with new beds and a new laundry, among other things. They had just reopened five days before our arrival.
Pulling back the covers on one of the beds, my wife immediately noticed that the sheets were stained, not clean and not fresh. A clean room is a nonnegotiable item for me, so we went back down to the lobby and the desk clerk kindly reassigned us to another third-floor room. Unfortunately, the sheets on this bed were even worse, stained, and lightly littered with hair and a lot of unidentifiable particulate matter.
The carpeting in the hallways and the elevator was likewise soiled. I did not have a chance to check out the bathroom.
We contemplated asking for clean sheets and changing the linens ourselves, but opted instead to find another local property. The thought of spending the night there in the absence of just basic cleanliness was just not an option.
As a life-time Bonvoy Gold rewards member with hundreds of Marriott-branded stays, rarely have I encountered a problem such as this. It is not up to Marriott's standards.
The front desk clerk was quite apologetic but this obviously was not a problem for which she was responsible.

Christina, and Belle at the front desk are the best to talk too, very kind and patient. there are never any issues with the breakfast in the morning. coffees always ready to go, even before 6 o'clock am. And the lovely lady that takes care of the kitchen area, works really hard and make sure everybody has what they need and nothing runs out.

Traveling to Florida from Texas stoped here , they lock the door at 10 , the lady made me answer about 10 questions from the button before I got inside . When I checked in she told me " we don't have the room you booked " ( a am an elite member so my room should be guaranteed) .I'm 6"2 they put me in a handicap room I could not shower properly. The room was not clean , . The lady did not tell me about breakfast. And the housekeeper walked in At 8 Am when I was in the shower . I reached out to the hotel nobody ever called me back

The owners redesigned the property to be attractive but also address health concerns associated with the hotel industry. Rooms have fewer cloth/carpet surfaces and are easy to clean and inspect. This makes relaxing and staying healthy easy.

Upon checkin the front desk staff was friendly & welcoming; the room was clean & comfortable. Included was a delicious spot-on breakfast with hot, fresh coffee and egg & spinach frittata amongst other options! Overall, a great place to stay, especially being en route from Houston to NOLA!
