Our reservation cost (pre pay) was quoted at $270. Our check out bill was $396.48. We got ripped off! The room was nice, especially the shower. Our dinner was excellent! We were also told when we reserved thsat there was a free shuttle to the airport. There was not, and rthe taxi was $30 ibs. The shuttle was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. The ttoal extra cost to us was $160.

We arrived at approximately 230pm and was let into our room early as check in wasn’t till 3pm . I made a cup of coffee and went to have one of the complimentary biscuits ,to find it was already open and one of the biscuits was already half eaten. This made me question the cleanliness of the room . The room was extremely hot , so we tried to put the air conditioning on .After an hour the room was still very hot so we tried several times to turn the air conditioning down but still the room was very hot . I phoned down to reception for someone to help us cool the room . About an hour later nobody had been about the air conditioning so on our way out at around 5pm I spoke to the receptionist who said someone would go up to our room and sort it . We returned to our room at midnight to find it still very hot . In the morning when we were checking out the receptionist asked “was everything alright with the room”. I described what had happened with the biscuits and the air conditioning not being seen to or fixed . The receptionist went on to say “thanks for letting me know I’ll inform housekeeping and how do you want to pay “, without any sense of seeking to resolve or compensate us for this inconvenience caused. This was a very disappointing attitude to the issues I raised as I had spent the night unable to sleep. …

This hotel must have been designed by someone into GOTH. The outside is black. The inside dark and oppressive. The entrance foyer is not welcoming. The hallways are dreary. In the bath, even the shampoo, conditioner, etc were labeled Noire (French for black) Just plain odd. In the room everything was just off. Lights were difficult to work, coffee maker did not work. The tea kettle cord would not reach an electrical connection. Even with the lights on, the room was dark and depressing. We will never stay here again.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The decor was smart and classy and the whole experience was extremely efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

Clean, cozy room as you expect from a boutique hotel, you can spent the day in the room and just enjoy the peace and cozy room. The food and service is just on top and more. I would go back any time.

Great hotel, really good location and lots of parking! Lovely and friendly staff, rooms were nice and spacious and beds were comfortable. Shower and bathroom was spot on. A really calm and peaceful hotel to stay in. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

This hotel was wonderful. The beds were great and the shower was terrific. The only thing that was not quite perfect is that our room was not available when we arrived after the 3 pm check-in time. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our room to be ready.

We stayed in a classic double room here. Perfectly located just a 20 minute taxi ride out of Edinburgh City Centre. In a quiet area with a Tesco Store close by which was handy. The hotel is so nice and immaculate. Upon entry we were greeted with a modern open fire, exquisite decor and friendly reception staff. They were really chatty and very informative. Just what you want on arrival! The room was nice and clean, full Sky TV package and lovely big desk for working or getting ready. Plenty of wardrobe space & room to put your bags. There was also a hair dryer in the room as well as an iron/board. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and water where also a nice complimentary touch. Really good shower with both handheld and waterfall option. Really like how the amenities were all White Company Noir Range. We also ate at the Dakota Bar & Grill. The staff in here were so good. Very well mannered and couldn't do enough. Made us feel really welcome and friendly. The food was also amazing, really tasty and good portion sizes. We liked the Dakota. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms spacious and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was well prepared and nicely presented. We entered the hotel on arrival coming out of bright sunshine. The public areas are dimly lit (part of the style) but it did take some time for eyes and photochromic lenses to adjust. But that is a minor quibble on a high standard hotel
