We stayed one night in this hotel in April. At first we wondered what we had booked into because the exterior definitely needs a paint. However once Kristen had greeted us with a warm smile and genuine 'pleased to see you' we began to change our first impression and open ourselves up to this unique experience in a hotel. The...

I had an excellent stay. Clean rooms, good location, it has a cozy but classy feel. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable about the area and helpful with food recommendations. The coffee shop adjacent to the lobby was a extra bonus.

In Bangor for work I wanted a well located place to stay that would let me really get to know Bangor, Charles Inn is that place. The staff are really friendly, the location could not be better, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and real. Kristin at the front desk was able to help us find places to eat, navigate the...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend. It's a nice place and right downtown. The desk clerk recommended a few places to eat dinner and was very eager to make sure our stay was pleasant. I only have 2 complaints: there are a few bars very close, and we heard the noise all night, and boxspring on...

Could not ask for a better location. The hotel is right in the heart of Bangor and is very close to a bunch of restaurants and bars. I enjoyed the older, quaint vibe that the hotel had. While the hotel in general could use some investments in it and the rooms felt a little dated, it was an overall amazing...

My cousin and I stayed recently at this quaint Inn in the heart of downtown Bangor, Maine. The front desk staff were friendly to a fault and couldn't do enough for us. From accurate directions, to suggestions on shopping, free parking and restaurants they did everything they could to ensure we felt welcome. Our free upgrade to two Queens (due...

We found this hotel after dark, thanks to my dated GPS. We wanted to stay in the quaint downtown, which my husband's research showed had plenty of eateries. We stayed in room 201. The person at the front desk was very friendly. The hotel is funky. The only positive was its price. We got a great "walk-in" deal. The shower/toilet...

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Charles Inn in Bangor in October 2016. The lobby was quiet, quaint, and inviting. The reception desk was beautiful and the receptionist, Dana was remarkable. She made our trip just amazing. Our room was on the second floor, a double. It was clean and bright and comfortable. Nothing too much or...

The Charles Inn is a beautiful little hotel right in the heart of Bangor Maine. Kristen, who helped us many times, at the front desk, was flexible with our budget and made our stay there enjoyable. The staff there is available around the clock. The room, beds, area was charming. I hope to visit again.

On the positive side, The Charles Inn is ideally located right at the center of town, yet it is still quiet. Nearby are numerous restaurants, curio shops, a theater, etc. Everything is within easy walking distance, including the lovely Ponobscot River Trail. The place has its charm, and the lobby is inviting and attractive, with antique (of course) and two...
