I recently spent three nights at the Kennebec Inn with my sisters, on a sisters' getaway. This was my fifth stay at the Kennebec Inn, but each time before I was just passing through, and I kept thinking, "I'd really like to stay here and explore the area." That's just what we did this time, and we found the inn and the area perfect for our vacation. There's so much to do within a short ride, and Rachel, the innkeeper, was ready with maps and suggestions for us, each morning. She is a friendly and helpful hostess, and she is a creative and loving cook, who spoiled us with amazing breakfasts each day. Our room (and the inn itself) was spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed the Maritime Museum, right in Bath, and strolling around in downtown Bath. We also visited the fabulous Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, and the Art Museum at Bowdoin, where we saw a great exhibit of Maurice Pendergast's paintings of coastal scenes, many in Maine. So glad to have found this wonderful B & B!

My family and I flew in from out-of-state for a relative's Memorial and we couldn't have been more pleased that we had chosen this Inn for our stay, end of May to 1st of June. We stayed in the Captain Reed Room and Capt. Perkins Room, which were adjoining, yet separated by a door that was a bookcase, so that was fun for my family and me. As reported in other reviews, the house was charming and beautifully kept...crisp and clean linens, comfortable beds and the grounds were so beautiful, with blooming lilacs and all! We felt really treated with those 3-course breakfasts and Rachel's special personal attention and care. Accessibility to wherever we needed to go was really good, but it was very quiet where the Inn was itself. There was also plenty of space to put your clothes away in drawers, if you like. Overall, we loved our stay for so any reasons and would definitely go back...thank you, Rachel and Kenneth!

We stayed at the Kennebec Inn in Bath for a few days during the Bowdoin Music Festival, just down the road in Brunswick. This wonderful place sets the standard for Bed and Breakfasts everywhere. It's picture perfect, and our room (the Remington Room) was a beautifully appointed tranquil space, with rustic charm and a tantalizing view over the grounds at the back of the house. We also loved the well-maintained swimming pool. But what makes the whole experience really special is the care and attention to detail that the owner, Rachel, gives to her guests. Not only does she serve some of the most exquisite breakfasts ever devised—3 courses!—but she is a warm and charming person who is a font of local knowledge and wisdom. She guided us to one of the best restaurants in Bath, as well as to a wonderful local beach. I can't recommend Kennebec Inn highly enough.

The best three reasons to stay at Kennebec Inn:

-- Guests are in the care of a talented and experienced innkeeper who takes hospitality seriously. Every day begins with a different delicious breakfast created by Rachel, who obviously loves to cook/bake. Bring your sweet tooth. The entire Inn is immaculately clean.

--The location is excellent. The center of Bath, a 10-15 minute walk from the Inn, has Central Maine charm and several good restaurants. There are two great sand beaches within a half-hour drive. Reid State Park is great. The coastline from Portland to Camden is accessible with an hour. Lots more good restaurants in picturesque nearby towns.

-- The Inn itself is a great place to relax. The house and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The pool in back offers a refreshing swim and a great place to kick back with a book.

Ms. Rachel and staff at Kennebec Inn are amazing! She makes you feel at home and accommodates your requests. She really gets to know her guests so she can provide the best experience. The home is very well maintained and extremely clean (yes I checked behind the bed and on top of surfaces to find zero dust). The breakfast is the best I ever had (better than a restaurant). A gem of Bath!!!!

Had a very enjoyable stay. The Inn was immaculate, rooms were spotless, food was outstanding. The rooms are spacious and very tastefully decorated. Rachel, the inn keeper, was charming and a wealth of local information. We have traveled quite a bit over the years and this is a true 4-5 star establishment. Don't hesitate to stay here, you won't be disappointed

What a lovely, immaculately clean, well appointed Inn! From the moment we arrived until our departure (and return to pick up a jacket left behind, THANK YOU Rachel!) it was a wonderful time in Bath. Breakfast was delicious and the conversation with other guests was wonderful. Rachel made our stay relaxing and fun and went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed. We got to know Bath, Boothbay Harbor and Popham Beach. We will recommend this beautiful Inn to all our friends and family and can’t wait to return!
