My wife and I spent two nights here for a brief mini-vacation. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The food - EXCELLENT! The first night we elected to dine in the pub where Paula enjoyed fish and chips; four large pieces of fresh cod and some amazing fries. I had a cheese burger which was topped with tiny, thin...

Restaurant booked on advice of local innkeeper as a special birthday meal. Waitress began ok if a little loud at times. Restaurant empty. Didn't understand a question about wine but sorted that quickly. Hadn't finished starter when she arrived with main course. Took our cutlery away without replacing so we helped ourselves from another table. Complained about wife's food being...

We stayed in the Heritage Room on the third floor. Watch out--narrow, steep stairs! We had a lot of privacy, with a nice-sized private bath. Walking distance to Boothbay Harbor shops and pier. Free parking. Free wi-fi. And breakfast offered three different menu items from a French-trained pastry chef. He had French toast made with fresh homemade brioche and rhubarb-strawberry...

We found the key in an envelope, let ourselves in, found our room and walked in. it was large, clean and well appointed. All in all this was pleasant and would stay here again. Didn't try the restaurant but neighbors raved.

It was elegant and the waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. They have a great wine selection and very nice atmosphere. The broccoli appetizer was fantastic and we recommend it.

OK. I stayed here while looking into purchasing vacation property and the Thistle was close by. It is not, you should know, in the middle of town. If that's what you want, choose another property. If you want quiet away from the crowds, this will do very nicely. This is, as its name correctly states, an inn. It is not...

If I were rating just the restaurant, the Thistle Inn would fare much better. Not five stars, but a solid 4. If you're visiting Boothbay Harbor, there's every reason to stop here for dinner and/or drinks. But if you're looking for a B&B, keep on driving. The inn is old, as many are. That's part of the charm of many...

We arrived at Thistle Inn early hoping to check-in early, however no one was there. We had to ring a doorbell but no one answered. Once we arrived back we were directed to our room which was Victory Chimes. It was located on the first floor. This room has 3 windows in it and all can be looked through by...

My husband and I were visiting Boothbay just for one night and were enticed to stay at the Thistle Inn based on the ratings of some other reviews. When we arrived at the inn there was only a doorbell that said Push For Service. When a staff member greeted us she said "we were only supposed to have one check-in...

We stayed in the Victory Chimes room - simple & exquisite. Comfortable. Spacious. Peaceful. Our room had the feel of a luxury spa. The bathroom was very spacious. The bed comfortable. I would stay here again without hesitation.
