Beginning of summer looking for a birthday getaway after leaving Stonington where we had stayed for a few days and wanting to stay in Boothbay led us to Sunset Beach. Nice location on the water, many buildings, swimming pool used by many children. Apparently, this seems to be a very reasonably priced inn which has many visitors, but still not... More

My husband and I met my mother and her friend for a 2 night stay at Sunset Beach. Purchased a Groupon for 2 rooms. We stayed in room 22 which had 2 queen beds and my mother stayed in room 11 with 2 double beds. I was cautious about staying here due to previous bad reviews. I am very happy... More

We had a wedding to attend in Edgecomb and decided to stay away from the hustle of Boothbay Harbor and Rt 1. I used a Groupon so it was very affordable for being right on the water. It is an older place but everything worked, and that is all that matters when you are away. The owners were very gracious... More

Yes, this is an old motel, but it's in good shape. To me the most important things are location and a good night's sleep, and Sunset Beach delivers on both. All the rooms face the ocean and are within 100 feet of the water, most much closer than that. You can't see the sunset from every room, but you can... More

After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about staying here. It seems like the hotel is in a managerial transition with a friend helping out. The location is beautiful ! My husband and I canoed on beautiful east boothbay harbor saw a bald eagle, Ospreys and a seal during our stay. Collected sea glass during low tide so... More

Great place to stay! It was off the beaten path so you definitely wanted to multi task when you went into Boothbay. With that being said, it was so nice and quiet because it was tucked away. Not much traffic noise, didn't heard any noise from the other visitors staying there. The room was clean and comfortable with a great... More

Bought a Groupon for a 3-day getaway. Traveled 250 miles only to be greeted by a note on the office door (office was closed) with a phone number to call. Over an hour (and five attempts to get an answer) later, we were told the manager would not honor our reservation because he had no help to clean the rooms... More

This place needs help! Bed, fridge in front of mirror on table and tv. That's it. Porch door does not lock, no toaster, no microwave, no coffee pot, no beach to actually swim in, it's gross with seaweed all surrounding it at all times of the day. Carpet in room was dirty looking, paint chipping on wall. The 1 star... More

The place was old and dirty. Pictures are not what are posted. Very old tired buildings with NO sandy beach. The tv in the room was an old 20 inch tv. The screen doors was broken and tub was very dirty.

Upon arrival, it is obvious that the pictures are not accurate. It is not very well kept. Needs structure repair and paint. The pool was cloudy and had a very strong chemical odor. There were a few men trying to open it. The view was beautiful but there was glass bottles on the beach. The manager was overwhelmed (having had... More
