Always a relaxing trip to a wonderful place! We have been going there since 1980 in the spring, fall and for deer hunting. We took several years off during the period when Bob and Jill were in charge and it is wonderful to see that Dana and Christy have restored the camps to their previous glory.

There is nothing like a trip to this camp to bring you back to what's important in life. Being off grid with no phone to check or email to write, you remember very quickly there is far more to life. The camps come equipped with everything you need to settle right in. They are quintessential Maine on so many levels....

Thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure to meet you this year and have you returning to visit us! We are glad you enjoyed our comical chickens, we find the wildlife and chickens often keep our guests entertained all day long. It is a joy to be able to share these rustic cozy cabins and a simpler...

My husband and I have been traveling to Spencer Pond Camps every year since 2011 - and I'm about to book next year's (2017) trip. The Moosehead Lake region, and Spencer Pond Camps in particular, is our happy place. I've tried, but it's impossible to wipe the grins off our face the whole time we're there. We've stayed in two...

As always we had a wonderful stay. This is truly a place to go for piece and solitude. Christy and Dana are great and they have made coming to Spencer Ponds like a home away from home. We only wish that we could come more than once a year. Worth every penny!! Marlene & Dave L

We have stayed at other rustic camps in this area but Spencer pond Camps tops them all. We stayed in Bemsis, which is perfect for a couple. The cabin was very clean, sunny in the morning and everything we needed but our food and clothing was there waiting for us when we arrived. The owners make it clear on their...

We stayed in Bemsis, a delightful cabin. I truly like all the cabins, however. The owners are friendly, outgoing, and very accommodating. I cannot imagine a better experience anywhere else. I was amazed at the number of canoes and kayaks available to use. There are nearby trails for hiking and we also did some biking along the gravel roads and...

From the moment we ended the seemingly endless trip into the bumpy off road wilderness (after a rocky start and wrong turn - all our fault) and unloaded into the quiet solitude of the camp compound, it was evident that this was the tonic of peace and disconnecting from all that makes the mind buzz that we sought. The clear...

This is truly the place to go if you want to experience maine north woods in its purest sense. We are frequent visitors to Spencer Pond Camps usually spending 3-4 days there. The camps sit on a pristine pond of approx. 750+ acres. The housekeeping cabins are more than adequately stocked with all necessary dishes, utensils, and cookware. Each cabin...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unwind "unplugged and off the grid" in natural beauty, the way life used to be. Built in 1901, Spencer Pond Camps are an authentic and historic Maine Sporting Camp. They are the only cabins on the pond and sit in the shadow of Little Spencer Mountain. 14 miles via dirt roads from our closest neighbors, on an undeveloped and scenic pond. Recognized as an environmental leader, we offer you a choice of six rustic wilderness lakeside housekeeping cabins - each with its own unique personality. The cabins are fully furnished for comfort including screened porches, rocking chairs, woodstoves, libraries and homemade quilts on the beds.Canoes and kayaks are provided free of charge. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere, non-modernized without electricity and reminiscent of "Little House in the Big Woods" these cabins will take you back in time. ... more   less
