We spent a wonderful birthday weekend at Gorman. My wife, daughter and I stayed in one of the newer cabins which was comfortable, but a little dark. The lake and canoes were a short walk. The lodge (meals) was a short walk up the hill. The meals were great. We really enjoyed the fact that they were communal, which gave...

great food and accomms. beautiful location. no complaints. there was some confusion about whether we needed a ride in with our two little kids and then where our cabin was. but then they more than made up for it. sauna hours could be more flexible, but they keep it hot and overall must keep a schedule. dinner altogether at the...

Superb staff, superb meals and superb accommodations was my experience at Gorham Chairback Lodge. The staff was so friendly and accommodating that we instantly felt welcome and at home. The setting is a remote area of Maine and provides nice solitude, yet the Lodge, cabins and staff made me feel safe, warm, comfortable and even pampered. The chef is top...

We stayed at Gorman Chairback Lodge and Cabins for one night as part of a 3-day cross-country ski adventure in the Maine woods. The staff are very friendly and accommodating with maps and suggestions. The main lodge has coffee, tea, hot chocolate and GORP available all day. - Miles and miles of groomed (not tracked) trails - Cozy lakeside cabins...

From Gorman Chairback, there are more miles of groomed cross country ski trails than you will be able to ski. The lodge has a wonderful sauna and the new cabins have bathrooms in the cabin. You will have a great view out your window of long pond. The crew cook up wonderful breakfasts and dinners. The sitting area in the...

My husband and I love to enjoy the great outdoors here in winter where we can hang out in a rustic setting with the right amount of comfort. Sweet cabin with wood stove, great meals, sauna. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. Always fun to make it a hut to hut ski with Little Lyford Lodge. AMC will take your...

I accompanied a group of 10 other cross country skiers to AMC's Gorman Chairback Lodge over President's Day weekend and found the lodge, staff and amenities to be superb. The food was great (a full turkey dinner) along with a superb list of local Maine beers. I look forward to returning again.

While still a rustic hut experience, Gorman Chairback takes it up notch! Fresh linens on the bed, warm fire started for our arrival...it was and always is, a lovely stay! The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff accommodating and helpful--they even gave our daughter a special sweet treat in her bag lunch. The AMC trails are a joy to...
