Characterful, comfortable, and friendly hotel with wonderful views. Room was clean and very well and thoughtfully equipped. Watching the sunrise and seeing the lobster boats leaving in the early morning was a real highlight, but the view from the room was great all day! We made a last-minute booking on Christmas Day after the storm left our vacation home without power. We had to keep extending by an extra day and the owner made the stay work perfectly. Staff were delightful.
Such a beautiful spot! Right on the harbor. The room was huge with a gorgeous view- sunrise was amazing! The owner Dr. Yee was extremely nice and hospitable- great stories about the town and inn. Can't wait to go back!
A wonderfully quirky little hotel next to a harbor full of working lobster boats. I can’t say enough about this hotel. The owner Dr Yee & his staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I messed up the booking & didn’t realize until we arrived but it was fixed quickly and graciously and we were subsequently shown to a fantastic cozy room overlooking the harbor. I personally loved the two comfy chairs (with TV!) that allowed me lounge in comfort before bed. Dr Yee suggested we pick up a lobster on our way back from exploring the area and offered to cook it for us when we returned. He delivered! One fantastic lobster complete with potatoes and butter (which we didn’t buy!) was delivered to our room shortly after! Wow! After a long journey on a wet and windy October night we couldn’t have hoped for more. We were booked for one night, we stayed two! Highly recommend this hotel. Great people, great location. Hope to return again one day soon. Thanks for the memories Dr Yee!…
This is one of the most clean and inviting hotels you will ever find! It feels homey and if you want to experience a working coastal fishing village this is the place to stay!! The working harbor is steps from the door and you can see nesting geese, eagles, and fishing boats galore!! Buy lobster, clams, and muscles within a short walking distance. Sit back and enjoy the ocean breeze!!
Our journey to Jonesport harbor was full of wonder. We awoke every morning with much pleasure and much joy to the sunrise in this beautiful harbor town we have never seen before. The suite had a comfy, eclectic vibe. The perfect getaway! We were lucky to meet the owner who shared some fun places to visit while we were down east. We are already planning to come back. -Review with help from CP Cavafy :)
I needed an escape from work and came across this place. I stayed in the Beach Rose room. The view of the harbor offered a stunning sunrise over all the lobster boats waiting to go out. It was quiet and unbelievably relaxing. It appears to be under new ownership, the owner was incredibly personable and interesting to speak with. The establishment was clean and set up to be socially distanced. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle to relax and recharge. After four days I felt more relaxed than I have in a long time. I will be back!
The perfect lodging for Jonesport! Nothing too fancy, nothing too cute, absolutely just right! Jonesport is a non-touristy Maine coastal village with friendly people and a vibrant lobster industry. If you want to REALLY experience Maine, visit and stay at the Harbor House. We had an absolutely beautiful harbor view from a clean and very well-appointed room. Microwave, coffee maker, fridge, sink, flat-screen tv, en-suite bathroom ... perfect! The managers are friendly and extremely helpful.
We are staying at the second floor of the Harbor House. Great Kitchen and 1 and a 1/2 bath. Washer and dryer in the unit. Fantastic views and can walk to some of the shops. We are here for a week!! The building has a lot of history. New out of state owner, but run by Jonesport Reality. Very friendly and can give tips on the area. Very pleased!!!
WE stayed one night each in a series of properties on the Maine Coast as we travelled south. Jonesport is a small fishing village/town - which is the right word depends where you are coming from, but it doesn't matter. There are some old and attractive houses (of which Harbor House is one, and the house next door has recently been taken over by the Jonesport Historical Society and if you ask they will show you round). Harbor House is right on the waterfront, The letting rooms are in the converted loft/attic and are huge and give great views across the harbour. The owners are on the one hand friendly and welcoming and, on the other hand, leave you to your own devices in your own part of the building so you don't feel you are on top of them or them on top of you. Excellent breakfast served on the enclosed terrace. It may not be a B&B for long, the owners have it on the market and if my wife had her way we would have bought it on the spot (though London to Maine a long hop for weekends!). The dining options in Jonesport are limited, especially in October, but there is plenty of lobster around, and a pizza take-away from a store! An earlier review suggests the brochure is a misrepresentation, I beg to differ. Jonesport isn't Cape Cod - and all the better for it! And I'm not sure how the B&B can be responsible for AT&Ts lack of coverage??…
Breakfast and rooms were terrific and the hosts were personable and gracious. It's true that the town is very small, but we went there to see the Great Wass Island Nature preserve and other scenic sites in this coastal area. We did not expect lots of shops and eateries (though the Lobster roll at the nearby Bayview Takeout is hard to beat for quality and value), and this Inn was a great place to stay.
