The hotel is beautiful and old, and the owners really care about their building. However, during check the owner's mother informed us that the rugs were newly installed and to be very careful about not spilling on them, which did not feel particularly welcoming. There...More

This is an old hotel that shows it's age, both good and bad. Wonderful woodwork details, large comfortable lobby, wide stairway and antiques scattered around the hallways. It's age shows in the bathrooms, carpeting, some of the furniture and a lack of amenities. We've stayed there to ski Sugarloaf, only when other lodging is unavailable. It's okay for a few nights. The prices reflect that.
If you're looking for plush luxury accommodations for cheapo prices, you're going to be constantly disappointed.
